I have an instance (with 2disks) on Ganeti with both disks degraded (probably due to a connection problem?). This instance was working correctly for many years until this morning.

On my master

I can't reboot nor shutdown the instance (Operation timed out).

I think it is NOT a brain split issue because there is no "standalone" and on primary node it is "Primary/Unknown" and on secondary it is "Secondary/Unknown".

I tried to run "drbdadm connect all" on the secondary node, but that did nothing.

I tried to replace disk but it failed:

Any idea how to solve this?

DRBD version: 8.3.7

Ganeti version: 2.4.5

OS: Debian 6.0

My goal is the following situation on my computer (ComputerA):

• send emails (generated by cron) to another local mail server (ComputerB)
• send emails (generated by a particular task) to gmail

Currently, the first part is working correctly. Here is the config files:

On ComputerA, when I run

echo 'World'| mail -s 'Hello' root

it is working correctly. In my understanding, this email is routed by ComputerB, and then to Internet.

Now I would like to be able to do the following:

echo 'World'| mail -s 'Hello' bob

And this email should be sent to a gmail address (without being routed to ComputerB).

So I edit /etc/aliases:

root: mailuser
bob: [email protected]

But then I'm not sure how to configure exim4 for a different configtype (satellite and internet).

I found example how to setup exim4 for gmail only, but not for a 'mix'.

Should I create a manual route in /etc/exim4/conf.d/router and stop using update-exim4.conf.conf?

On my Debian6 I have apt-cacher installed and running correctly.

Every day the current task is run **/etc/cron.daily/apt-cacher: #!/bin/sh

/usr/share/apt-cacher/apt-cacher-cleanup.pl -f

The script apt-cacher-cleanup.pl is taking more than 1 hour to complete and while it's running, other it looks like other machines are pending (kind of frozen).

I used the arg "-v" to receive an email, and everything looks fine. I can see at the end of the email: Found 134105 valid file entries

1) Is it normal that the cleanup scrit is taking that much time?

2) What is "134105 valid file entries"? I only have 1297 files in my cache folder.

3) Should I delete the cache folder, so it will re-download only the necessary packages?

** EDIT There is no 134105 packages. I'm not sure why I have this number on this email. In the folder /var/cache/apt_cacher/packages, I have 1297, which seems to be more reasonable.

** EDIT2 Sometime apt-cacher-cleanup.pl is taking only 10min and no frozen machines.

We have a server (a router) with 5 IP addresses (we are hosting different Websites).

I'm wondering why the server was setup like that:

-> eth1 is connected to the modem

-> when the connection is established, then "ppp0" is created

-> there is a script in /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/2publicips:

 ifconfig eth2   163.88.0.25 netmask 255.255.255.248 
 ifconfig eth2:0 163.88.0.26 netmask 255.255.255.248 
 ifconfig eth2:1 163.88.0.27 netmask 255.255.255.248
 ...

Everything is working correctly. I'm just curious why it was setup like that.

My question: Is that the correct way to setup a server with multiple IPs?

why using "eth2" for the extra IP adresses? Because of this, we can't plug any cable in eth2. Why not using "ppp0:1, ppp0:2..." or "eth1:1, eth1:2..."?

Unfortunately the person who setup this server is not here anymore.

I'm not so familiar with multi-homing.
