Every time I reboot this Windows Server 2019 VM, Windows changes the subnet from 255.255.252.0 to 255.255.255.0 which is incorrect. The subnet must be /22 (255.255.252.0) for traffic to pass.
I found this Hotfix, but it's only for Server 2012 so I cannot install it:
This vCSA was recently upgraded from 6.7u3 to 7.0. The vCenter is 100% operational from a vSphere perspective. However, we cannot get into the VAMI (vCenter Appliance Manager Interface) at https://vCSA:5480
This is very bad because we cannot update, upgrade or backup the vCSA without access to the VAMI. To be clear, we can login but there is a blank white window in the center of the web-UI and this text is behind it:

When I try to open "Horizon 7 Administrator" (URL is https://View-Connection-Server.Corp.local/admin/#) Chrome opens to a blank page. I am trying from the Horizon Connection Server itself, so this is not a firewall issue (plus the Windows Firewall is off as of now). I am thinking this is an SSL cert issue, but am not sure how to troubleshoot it or fix it.

I have an issue with WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) in PowerShell. If I run the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS app (the UWP app) it works as expected. However, if I run and run Bash.exe from an elevated PowerShell prompt, it fails with simply:
I opened C:\Windows\System32 then took ownership and granted Full-Rights to Bash.exe for myself. However, the issue persists. I have also tried:
- Uninstalling the Ubuntu UWP App, removing WSL via add/remove features
- Re-adding WSL via add/remove and reinstalling the Ubuntu UWP App: no change
However, I have found that I can run Bash.exe in a normal (non-admin) CMD or PowerShell prompt. Why is this and how can I fix it?
I have been creating our Windows 10 "golden image" from a VM, but since I installed the "Spring Creators update" I now cannot SysPrep it. Typically, this is the process I would follow, using PowerShell to find and remove all APPX packages:
#Audit APPX packages
Import-Module Appx
Import-Module Dism
Get-AppxPackage -AllUser | Format-List -Property PackageFullName | Out-File C:\Temp\AppxJunkToRemove.txt
I then edit the "AppxJunkToRemove.txt" file to create my "RemoveAppXPackages.PS1" script:
Remove-AppxPackage -Package <packagefullname1>
Remove-AppxPackage -Package <packagefullname2>
Lastly, I would do two other things:
SysPrep is Windows 10 is painful, but following these steps worked 100% of the time for me before the Spring Creators Update. However, now the error I get is:
"System Preparation Tool 3.14
A fatal error occured while tyring to sysprep the machine."
This happens during the "Sysprep is working... processing generalize phase Sysprep plugins..." step. Then this error immediately follows:
I have verified that C:\Windows\System32\SysPrep\Panther folder does not exist before I try the SysPrep. Setuperr.log shows:
Error 0x0f00a8 SYSPRP WinMain:Hit Failure while processing sysprep generalize internal providers
What I am missing here?
Server is a VMware ESXi 5.5 host. Uptime on it is 65 days. LCD on the server is showing an error: Persistent correctable memory error rate has increased for a memory device at location DIMM B4 I'd like to look in DRAC to see what's going on, but cannot access it. The last time I needed DRAC (a few months ago, can't really recall) I was able to access it via the web portal. However, now it is not responding to PING, not even when I just try to ping the IP (we also have a DNS A record for it). I am in the same office as the server, on the same LAN.
Is there anything I can do while the server is up, or do I just have to try and reboot it during the next maintenance window? This is a ESXi host running several VM's. I cannot try anything risky during normal business hours. Thanks.
Hoping to get some help here. The ThinStation/DevStation site seems to be lacking IMHO. What I am trying to do is simple: repurpose an older computer (Dell Optiplex 745 SFF) as a thin client. I'm still in the testing phase, but if this works I'll be replacing Windows on all of our "scan station" computers with this since they only work in an RDS session and do not need Windows locally.
I have DevStation up and running in a VM. I have ran Start > DevStation > Build Image (GUI) and Terminal command: /thinstation# ./setup-chroot
Also, I tried the command: ./build --allmodules
But it just returns:

This build system requires them; aborting build
I took the ISO from /thinstation/build/boot-images/iso and wrote it to a USB key via Live Linx utility. But when I boot to the USB key I have no NIC driver. Where did I go wrong here?
We have an issue with single company trying to email us. The failure code is #4.4.1 which means a connection time-out. However, to my knowledge no one else that is emailing us is having this issue.
They sent me the bounce-back and the generating server was their email server. However, one line of it I'm unsure about:
Final-recipient: RFC822; [email protected]
Action: delayed
Status: 5.4.0.
Maybe they typo'd the email address or something? I read that 5.4.0 means the address was not found on our email server.
Is this issue on our side or theirs? What (if anything) can I do to help fix this? We have on-premise Exchange 2007 (in an SBS 2008 VM).
We have a user that gets the "mailbox full" warning every time he opens Outlook. Our company default is 2 GB, and his mailbox is at 2.14 GB. I set all Storage Quotas for his mailbox to unlimited (no boxes checked), but the error persists. 
Send and receive are not affected, nor are any other functions of Outlook (everything works fine). However, the user wants the "error" message to stop. How can I accomplish this? Thank you.

I've rolled out a Folder Redirection/Offline Files GPO as of Monday and it's (mostly) been smooth. I deployed it at our other 2 "remote" sites that are connected to us via MPLS first and not a single blip at either one. I setup Desktop, Documents and Favorites to be redirected. For obvious reasons, I left Downloads, Pictures, Music and Videos alone (un-redirected, so still just on the local drives).
However, yesterday our CEO texted me at 8pm because the desktop items on his Surface Pro 4 had a gray "X" over them. I remoted to him and manually setup a new RDS shortcut so he could remote in (all he needed to do at the time). I explained that the Offline File sync failed to finish and left the desktop items in this state, but that I'd have to fix it tomorrow once the Surface was back on the LAN. However, I have the Surface on the LAN now and it still will not sync and **the green "Sync Center" icon is missing from the System Tray. I tried this to make the SS icon show up and it worked for my profile, but NOT his.
I have set the 3 paths to file server to be "Always Offline" (aka "Administratively assigned offline files") but it does not seem to be working:

Another issue I have is our DC is SBS 2008 (not R2), so the option to have Offline Files sync on a schedule (like every 5 mins or so would be nice) is apparently not possible...? And this is somehow dependent on slow-link mode?? Moreover, I'm just confused if we should use "Slow Link Mode" or not. Literally only 2 or 3 laptops are ever off our domain, and that's not all that often. The other 50ish computers are desktops on a LAN that use wired ethernet, so those are the priority.
So my questions are:
- How can I FORCE Offline Files to Sync down to his Surface after he is logged in?
- How can I get the Sync Center icon in the System Tray?
I am testing out a Folder Redirection GPO for our domain (DC is Server 2008) and have run into an issue. I placed a 2.6 GB .ISO file on my "network" desktop (on the file server) as a test and opened it on a workstation, but I do not remember which workstation. Now I cannot delete the ISO. I have rebooted all workstations, but for some reason Windows still sees the ISO as in use and I get the error:
File in use. The action can't be completed because the file is open in another program. Close the file and try again.
Before anyone berates me for not putting this question on SuperUser, please understand that I felt the GPO for Folder Redirection qualified this as a SF question. Thank you.
I have followed all the steps in AWS's documentation to the letter, but am getting this "ERROR: image not found" when I try to upload via CLI (I'm on Mac OS X Mavericks in the terminal). I exported the VM from VMware Workstation and saved it as an OVF file. Here is my command for the EC2 CLI:

Have replicated this issue multiple times, from multiple email accounts. I have verified the email passes through the anti-spam firewall (Untangle), but Exchange Message Tracking doesn't even have record of the email coming in. Also, I do not see the test sender email address (my gmail) in our Exchange Logs (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\TransportRoles\Logs\ProtocolLog\SmtpReceive), and we have "Verbose" logging already enabled on the Receive Connectors.
The only way I have been able to send in a PDF larger than 4 MB's is as follows: Linux VM in off-site test lab > SMTP2Go Relay Email service (with test lab IP whitelisted for anonymous authentication) > Our Exchange.

SMB solo SysAdmin here. I have a decent amount of experience with Exchange, but need to be sure we have no issues as we get into our busy season of the year (we're a greenhouse). Our sales staff keeps coming to me with stuff like this:
"So-and-so sent this email on Tuesday and we just got it today (Friday)! What's wrong with our email server?!" (email was an @mail.com address, BTW. "Free" ad-driven service, probably garbage and not suited for business)
and/or
"This is the second week in a row this person's email didn't come through! Please fix this!!" (email address was @suddenlink.net)
So, more to the point, my questions are:
If the Microsoft Online Connectivity Analyzer (https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/) says we have no issues with inbound/outbound SMTP, then the problem is either their email server or just human error, right?
Similarly, our transaction time (according to http://mxtoolbox.com/diagnostic.aspx) is about 7.5 seconds, which is maybe not the best, but surely wouldn't cause a 24-48 HOUR delay, right?
Lastly, We also use an Untangle UTM for anti-spam (paid version), BUT I have whitelisted the addresses in question and also didn't find them in the spam quarantine.

Odd issue here I've been intermittently dealing with for months now. Certain PDF's sent as email attachments inbound cannot go through. I have confirmed the issue is with the PDF attachment filename length. Other PDF's with shorter names go through just fine. From my testing, the max length the PDF can have is about 20 characters, even though I read that Exchange '07 should be able to process up to 78, at a minimum.
Also noteworthy is the fact that if the test PDF with a long name (about 60 characters) is sent internally on our domain, there are no problems and it goes through fine.
I've been searching online for hours now and I cannot find Exch Mgmt Shell commands or Exch Mgmt Console (GUI) instructions to even check the attachement character limits, much less change them. Any/all help appreciated. Thank you.
So, as of last week I've implemented a blocklist on our Untangle (which runs Apache SpamAssassin behind the scenes). For the most part it's working, but there is still some spam getting through that I want to block. For example I have blocked this:
blacklist_from *@mail.eu
Yet spam from address like this are still getting through (3 new just this morning): *@aweerr.caprav.eu *@ftwes.maroonh.eu *@swefgy.sinsult.eu
So my questions: - Does the "mail" in *@mail.eu not act a wildcard as well? So, for example, anything from [email protected] should be blocked, correct? - For sub-domains (like *@swefgy.sinsult.eu) should I make a rule like this (woud this work)? blacklist_from @.eu and/or blacklist_from @mail..eu
Also, if anyone knows of a free service where I can get a "throw away" email account with something OTHER than .com (.point, .eu, .work, etc) that would be very helpful with my testing.

Getting a "HTTP 404 Not Found" when I enter the server's LAN IP in a browser (http://192.168.1.70 - which the site has bindings for) or simply try to browse to localhost in IE 11. However, in IIS 8 I can successfully browse to "http://Server.MyDomain.com on 192.168.1.70" and everything works as intended. The static DNS A record already exists and was created for the hostname before I installed IIS 8 role.
What could be the issue here? Thank you.
