I've used Terraform to create a VPC, subnets, ECS instances, routing and a task definition which I am able to run via the AWS console. That gives me a few instances of my small web app running in multiple containers.

I have also been able to create a service using Application Load Balancers in the console but where I fail is when I try to automate that step. I can't attach the container to the target group using Terraform.

From the docs:

target_id (Required) The ID of the target. This is the Instance ID for an instance, or the container ID for an ECS container.

I don't know how to specify the container ID for an ECS container. In the console, the page where you register the container in the target group has a drop-down with my container identified as "nancy_template:0:5000".

"nancy_template" or "nancy_template:0:5000" both give me the error:

Where do I get the 'container ID' the docs say I need to populate the 'target_id' property?

We are attempting to tune our SQL Server 2005 database as we frankly have no indexing on our tables and our CPU usage is starting to max out at 100%.

We have ran SQL Server profiler for a 3 hour period which covers the time we recieve the most usage on our web front-end.

After we fed this into the Database Engine Tuning Advisor, it made a number of suggestions for indexes and statistics. Here is an example of one of them:

..but that fails because there is already "an index or statistics with name '_dta_index_ChangeLog_9_245575913__K5_K2_K3_K4'" which I can see under the Statistics section on that table in SQL Server Management Studio. The only thing I have under Indexes is a clustered index on the primary key.

Why has it been added as a statistic and not an index?

I need to run php on on one of my websites but I need it to support 32 bit binaries.

If I run:

cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32BitAppOnWin64 "true"

...all my existing asp.net 2.0 applications stop responding - I get a "Service Unavailable" error even after restarting services. This error remains until I set that flag back to false and restart the IIS service.

I seem to have the 64 and 32 bit versions of the .net framework installed, so I thought it would be able to run my applications as 32 bit processes.

Can anyone suggest anything that might get this to work?

I need to run php in a website on our Windows 2003 64 bit server and while php offer 32 bit binaries for Windows, they aren't offering 64 bit ones at the moment.

I can't switch IIS 6 to run 32 bit applications as it then stops all my other asp.net sites working.

What I am doing is trying to build php from source for a 64 bit target by following this guide : http://wiki.php.net/internals/windows/stepbystepbuild

I used the Windows SDK build environment command window to build this and started by issuing the command:

setenv /x64 /xp /release

..to set the build target to "Targeting Windows XP x64 RELEASE"

I issued the configure line of:

configure --disable-all --enable-cli --enable-isapi

Which results in the failure during building (it builds fine if I omit --enable-isapi which I don't want to do):

This looks like the problem: "nonstandard extension used : '_asm' keyword not supported on this architecture". I suspect I have not done enough to tell the build process to provide a 64 bit output can anyone suggest how to overcome this?

I had to deploy an application that was not written by me onto the above configuration. It is a rather bizarre hybrid of asp.net and classic asp and it's the classic asp that is proving troublesome.

The client is having problems with 500 Internal Server Errors appearing and I can see some of these in the logs but I only get the error code and the page name but little else.

What I would like to see is the actual error message to at least give me an idea what is going on (or not going on, depending on your point of view)

I don't want to display errors in the browser as I don't know the code well enough and this could (for all I know) display some crazy code where the db password is hard-coded into the site.

I'm getting logged error messages about hits to /EWS/Exchange.asmx (does not exist) in the root of one of our web sites on our own server (IIS6 on Windows 2003)

The server does not run exchange at all.

Is this related to any attack that people know of?

From the questions below, this domain does not have any exchange email at all so it looks like a probe from a script. I'll filter it out so our error reporting logger ignores it.
