We have a Qlogic QLE2560 HBA running on a Centos 6 server. I am needing to remove the attached LUNS remotely. I do not have any software from qlogic installed on the device. Their are 2 LUNS attached to a P200 G3 SAN and I can not find anything documented for this OS on how to remove them.

I am running Ubuntu 12.04, and bind9. My Caching only DNS server was actually an open dns resolver, so I am trying to correct this.

I tried to follow this guide.

I can restart bind without issue, I can query against bind. Yet, when i test I am still an open resolver, and when I look at DNS top, all my top queries are coming from IPs outside of the defined ranges. So I know I have something wrong.

I am currently trying to find a way to Load Balance our 4 Mail Gateways ( Running Mail Cleaner). I was able to bring up HAProxy and use tcp mode to load balance without issue. The only real problem being my Source IP is always the HAProxy server, so some of my mail filter checks are useless now because I can not check if the mail is coming from a known bad relay.

Is their any FLOSS Software out that could be used to handle this type of situation? I know HAProxy has this ability if I have the Mail Gateways use it as the Default Gateway, and compile some additional modules and configure iptables. I just dont want to start down that path if I am just missing an easier solution.

I have installed Debian Testing, Zenoss and smpd on the same server. I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out where I am screwing up the snmpd config. Zenoss sees the device, grabs the correct hostname and other values specified in snmpd.conf, yet I am unable to get any memory, cpu, load etc graphed. They all display 'nan' -- Which Im assuming means I have something wrong.

If I model the device I do get some warnings like:

I have a CentOS server, and I want to create an exact copy of it. The device has a single 128MB drive mounted as /boot. I then have a 4 drive Software Raid 5 array, with 2 Logical Volumes on it. First Logical Volume is mounted at /, and the second is the swap. I need to be able to image the /boot drive, and then whole / Logical Volume. I was thinking I could use gparted and partition the new server and create the Logical Volumes. But I am not sure how I would then even restore

I have copied the contents of my raid setup, my partition setup, and LVM information to a pastebin to save space.

I am really clueless on this and have read most of the posted in the 'related' questions and nothing seems to be specific to this. Any help or guidance would be great.

I have a CentOS 5.5 x64 server that mirrors a NetGear ReadyNAS Everynight at midnight using rsync. I need a way to be alerted if the backups fail.

I have this in my users cron. It does run and works fine.

I do not run rsync as a daemon, so I do not think I can specify a syslog. I have a managed systems server that can watch for SNMP alerts and syslogs events if I know what error to tell it to look for. I monitor my mail server by checking if postfix and amavis are running and accepting connections and if not I run 'logger -p mail.info 'whatever error here' and then the Monitor server checks the log every hour and if that is in there, it alerts everyone. It would be OK if I could do something like that in a script.

How does everyone else alert themselves when rsync encounters an error?

I am having trouble mounting a remote file system via SSHFS/Fstab. The Client is a Ubuntu 10.10 box. The remote device is a Netgear ReadyNAS Pro. I created ssh keys already and can login without a password from the Ubuntu device to the NAS.

If I SSH to the device and then cd to the /c/backup directory I can read/write without problems. When I mount with fstab, I get a successful mount, I just cant access it. I am being told I do not have permission. dmesg is not giving me any hints. The line in my fstab is:

sshfs#[email protected]:/c/backup /home/user1/NAS-28/backup fuse user 0 0

user1 is a member of the fuse group. The permissions on /c/backup on the remote device are 777, nobody:nogroup. I would like to keep the owner/group the same because windows clients map this drive in their login scripts and I would not want to interfere with that. /home/user1/NAS-28/backup exists locally, and the permissions are 777, user1:user1.

Any ideas? I can provide any information needed.

Our current phone system runs off of a legacy OS2/Warp box. Periodically we have to log into the machine and restart OS2RSD.exe and then start it again and the phone system starts working again. The problem is we have to physically get in front of the box and use the GUI to stop and restart the process. Is it possible to remotely run a script to kill OS2RSD.exe if its running and then start it again? I have been unable to figure this out on my own.

The OS is OS2/Warp Version 3 if that helps.
