From Windows Active Directory Users and Groups. I can see when a user or group was modified. From System Internals I can also see when it was created. Is there a way to tell what User created the object or what user or process actually disabled it?
In this particular case it was created over a year ago, and last modified a few weeks ago.
Prior to my starting where I work now this configuration came to be. I would have advised against it for exactly this reason.
We have a domain controller that no one ever set up the iDRAC on, since the separate interface port is not in the system, I don't want to enable the piggyback access on the production interface. according to the system config at Dell, it shipped with a iDRAC8 Basic
I have not been able to tell if I'll be able to verify the status of the Vbat though the iDRAC8 Basic config from inside the operating system without bringing down the system. I know how to do this on Supermicro where they have tools for this exact issue, but I haven't been able to tell if there is a way to talk to the i2c/ipmi interface on the dell from inside Operating System, MS Server 2012.
Does anyone have this experience?
The reason I want to check the VBAT is because the server recently decided to make a 30ish second time hop and then several others which queried it also did the same. 30 seconds isn't enough to break certificates, but it could be an early indicator of another issue, and I have seen failing VBATs cause weird time drift issues before.
Background:
We need ready access to 30TB of audio data, although only a small fraction of it is ever requested for playback, that playback needs to be done immediately even for multi-year old data. The data resides in a SAN of multiple arrays and a nightly backup is performed on new data. Some data is also removed every night as well. Since both are write events, call it 20GB a night. The overall trend is more new data is written than old data is removed.
Weekly Patrol Reads(PR) and Consistancy Checking(CC) account for most of the disk activity on the arrays, other than them just spinning until they fail.
Question:
I'm trying to figure out if the if the disk based SAN should be replaced with one using using NVMe, what RAID level to consider and if it makes sense to reduce the frequency of PR or CC activity for the VNAND technology?
It is my understanding, what kills the VNAND is writes, and we would be writing way less data than the daily minimum on most drives even considering the consistency checking.
I have been able to find almost no testing of RAID 5/6 on NVMe or even SSD in general. I'm after primarily long term availability.

One Year Raid 0 setup
Here is the setup: We have Windows Server 2008R2 servers at customer sites. For separation of trust reasons, those machines are not members of the Customers Domain. They are also not acting as a Domain host themselves, they are strictly stand alone instances. This setup can't be changed.
Windows Servers attached to the customer network receive NTP updates through "w32tm". These servers are also attached to a private Stub network with additional machines not on the customer network. I would like to provide NTP service to hosts on the stub to provide better log synchronization.
All of the documentation I can find online seems to assume that the Windows Servers are Domain Controllers.
I only want to provide the NTP Server service to the stub network if possible. It shouldn't be reachable from the customer network.
What is the best way to setup?
