I've just setup a new RDS Deployment on a 2012 R2 domain. When client's connect to the RemoteDesktop there is a considerable delay at the "Preparing the destination computer" stage. I can resolve this by disabling the Windows Firewall on the RDS Session host computer.
I've searched the web and checked all open ports and it appears I've added the required exceptions for everything, but this is still happening whenever I turn the Firewall Back on.
How can I add existing Hosts to HostGroups in Nagios XI, automatically? For example, I have an existing 100+ Windows servers that I want to add to a hostgroup called "Windows".
I have a scheduled task that calls a bat file, problem is it does this in c:\windows\system32 instead of the path it exists in (c:\bak), is there a setting that I can change to set it to run in the correct location?
I have identified a large amount of e-mails stuck in the temptables of a exchange 2003 install. I know that the normal practice is to apply the correct hotfix, delete the temptables, restart and have the exchange subsystem recreate the temptables. However there are heaps of required e-mails that need to go to the intended persons.
Other than exporting the messages out of the temptables and then manually sending them off, is there anyway to "re-send" them from the temptables?
Is it possible to setup a RSS feed to view all changes made to an Active Directory database?
A user's Windows 7 laptop is throwing Event 4321, NetBT errors every two minutes. It is trying to register every DNS name on the network to its own interface. While there is a lot of discussion on single instances of this I have never seen it do it for every computer name in the network.
Any thoughts?

Will be doing this on a Saturday night to, leases renew every 24 hours so by Monday morning all the machines will have valid DHCP leases with correct DNS servers. Have a list of all machines on static IP so I know to update them while I'm at it.
Is it possible to backup the System State of a 2008 server without using wbamdin? The setup in question does support the requirements that wbadmin forces (all volumes are marked as critical).
Third party tools are an option but I would like to keep away from the big money sinks (BE etc)
I think I should expand on this, I have a scenario where it is impossible to use wbadmin to backup my system. All of my volumes are marked as critical and wbadmin will not allow a backuptarget to be a critical volume, it also wont allow a network folder or a removable USB media to be a target either, thus I am looking for third party software that can achieve what the built in wbadmin cannot.
I have a Sharepoint 2007 web farm installation with two site collections, one is a blank site and the other is a migrated Sharepoint 2003 site collection.
I want to move some specific content from the migrated 2003 collection to the 2007 collection, however I also want to change the path of where it exists, an example is that in the migrated 2003 collection HR is under Admin > HR, in the 2007 collection I want HR to appear before Admin.
I've looked around but haven't found a lot of information regarding how to move specific content between sites, any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

When I try to send a .txt file attachment it seems to strip out all of the information from within the text file. Any suggestions as to what's going wrong?

Trouble shooting steps I have taken so far 1. Modify the Domain Controller Template to supply Subject Name in Request restart Certificate Service, include SAN in Request, same error. 2. Re-installed Certificate Services / IIS / Restarted machine countless times

We have an exchange 2003 single-machine setup that is behaving very oddly. For various users it sends the same e-mail twice (I've checked the logs and each e-mail has a unique mail identifier which confirms that the problem is not the same e-mail being received twice, but it being sent twice)
I've done a quick search and found tons of information regarding POP3/IMAP connectors etc, however these Employes are using Outlook 2003/2007 in Cached Mode.
The Symantec AntiVirus for Mail is also not causing the issue, it's correctly scanning both e-mails coming through.
Any ideas?
I have a IIS FTP website setup like this
\ftp\users\domain\public\public
Software that runs on clients computers logs into the FTP server by specifying domain\public and moving to public, it then uploads or downloads files / folders into that area.
I want to restrict permissions on \ftp\users\domain\public so that nothing/nobody can write files or folders here, only to \ftp\users\domain\public\public.
I setup the NTFS permissions of the folder to remove domain\users, public and server\users to not have modify right, yet I can still upload/modify files.
I have disabled inheritance from the parent folder of \ftp\users\domain\public as well.
Any ideas on what I'm missing here?
P.S I know this is a stupid setup and makes no sense, it's some bizarre legacy application that I need to migrate to a safer environment until it can be replaced.
Does anyone happen to know if a required restart in order to apply Windows Updates creates a entry in the event log? If so which log is it under, and what is the source/id?
I have a legacy system that needs to an account, constantly logged into console for applications to function as required (Some old PROCOMS modem software for customers without Internet access but a telephone (Dial-up? Separate issue, don't get me started -.-)).
When an update is applied to this machine that requires a restart (Server 2003) I would like an e-mail alert to be sent.
I have a very odd situation, I have a server (let's call it X) running 2008 R2 with two NIC's in it, one is connected to the work domain and has a subnet of 192.168.10.0/24 the other is connected to a ADSL connection and has a subnet of 192.168.1.0/24. The server has IIS installed.
On the ADSL connection I have setup a dynamic dns and port forwarding to allow external HTTP, HTTPS, FTP and RDP connections. FTP and RDP are working fine however neither HTTP or HTTPS are working at all.
I can browse the websites by going to localhost on the machine, the HTTP and HTTPS ports appear as "Filtered" when I try to scan them using PortQueryUI and browsers respond with a "Server took too long to load or was not responding" error.
This was working fine just a few days ago, Windows firewall is disabled I don't have any software firewall on it. And I'm really lost.

I know that only office editions with VLK will work on Terminal Services, but I don't have any experience with VLK's and the information I find on the Internet isn't giving me any kind of concrete answer.
Currently I think the answer is that I need 50 VLK's, and I really hope that isn't the case as the price is quite high.
