I have a simple Time Machine Server configuration with 1 destination. Users are defined in Open Directory (but the machines that will be backing up to TMS do not login via Open Directory).

Updated info: Each user has their own machine and are administrators on their own machine. They will log into the Time Machine Server using their own Open Directory username and password. Encryption of TM backups will not be used.

Given this configuration, are backups secured per user when using Time Machine Server on OS X Server (Mountain Lion)?

Is there a way to get a feature in Exchange 2007 similar to message moderation in Exchange 2010 through the use of third party tools or otherwise? I've Googled things like "exchange 2007 outbound email approval" to no avail. We are working on getting Exchange 2010 implemented but I need an interim solution if at all possible. The reason for this is from a customer service perspective. I am willing to use a small process to be a smart host if needed. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice.

Edit: My apologies, I should have been more clear that I am trying to moderate/approve outgoing email from certain users, not moderate/approve email sent to a distribution group.

We have a client who is complaining about performance of an application which utilizes an MS SQL database. They do not believe the performance issues are the fault of the application itself.

The Smart Array E200i RAID controller has 128MB cache and we have the cache set to 75% read/25% write. The disk array set to enable write caching.

Recently we ran a disk performance test using SQLIO based on this guide. We used a 10 GB file for the test found that the average sequential read rate was ~60 MB/sec (megabytes/sec) and the average random read rate was ~30 MB/sec. Are these numbers on par for what the server should be performing? Better than on par? Horrible? Amazing?

Additional information on the server set up/RAID controller config:
There are three, 146 GB SAS 10k RPM 3.0 GB/sec (model HP DG146BABCF) drives, configured in a RAID 5 array. These are the only physical disks available to the server so both logs and data, including operating system data and paging file are all on the same physical disk array (there are 2 logical drives with the OS data being separate). The array stripe size is set to 64k. Total usable space is 273 GB.

The HP Advanced Data Guard is turned off. Rebuild and expand priority are set to medium. Surface scan delay is 15 sec. The controller has a cache board and a battery pack.

Users started complaining about slow network speed so I fired up Wireshark. Did some checking and found many PCs sending packets similar to the following (screenshot):

I blurred out the text for the username, computer name and domain name (since it matches the internet domain name). Computers are spamming the Active Directory servers trying to brute force hack passwords. It will start with Administrator and go down the list of users in alphabetical order. Physically going to the PC finds no one anywhere near it and this behavior is spread across the network so it appears to be a virus of some sort. Scanning computers which have been caught spamming the server with Malwarebytes, Super Antispyware and BitDefender (this is the antivirus the client has) yields no results.

This is an enterprise network with about 2500 PCs so doing a rebuild is not a favorable option. My next step is to contact BitDefender to see what help they can provide.
Has anybody seen anything like this or have any ideas what it could possibly be?

Currently we have a T1 which we use for both our voice and data.
We are looking at getting a bonded T1 but have been told by the provider that it would be a bad idea to run both voice and data on a bonded T1 (Multilink PPP) and that we should either:

A) Put in a bonded T1 for data only and have a 2nd non-bonded T1 for voice, or
B) Put in a 2nd T1 for data only and make the current T1 voice only

We don't use the voice as much and the reason we looked into a bonded T1 is for more internet speed, but obviously we still need to keep voice services with good quality and reliability. Unfortunately T1 is the only thing available to us since all the lines here are copper.

I am not familiar with bonded T1s. Tried googling about bonded T1s and having both data and voice on it but couldn't come up with anything helpful. So my question is, will we lose service quality by getting a bonded T1 and putting both voice and data on it?
