I'm using a fresh install of the most recent build of RockyLinux 9. I'm trying to disable GSSAPI for SSH based login, along with passwords and permit only public key based login. Setting GSSAPIAuthentication no in sshd_conf doesn't appear to actually disable it, based on the output from the ssh client prompt. Are there any other configuration parameters necessary?

I host a small website with a well known VPS service. They provided me with one IPv4 address upon registering and said additional addresses would require justification. I requested one additional IPv4 address so as to have one for a production environment and one for a testing/QA environment. They said this was unnecessary as I could just use alternative TCP ports for the test environment.

I can live with using a non-standard port for non-production hosting, but it got me thinking, what would be valid justification? (I asked them and they didn't want to answer). Is there an industry standard for what counts as "valid" justification for additional IPv4 addresses?

On a Linux system, is there a way to block all in and outbound traffic unless it passes through the Tor network. This includes any form of IP communication, not just TCP connections. For example I want UDP to be completely blocked since it cannot pass through Tor. I want this systems Internet usage to be entirely anonymous, and I don't want any applications leaking.

I realize this might be complicated because Tor itself needs to communicate with relay nodes somehow.

I have a linux server running in a data center that has some extra bandwidth and resources.

I'd like to set up a proxy service so that I can route all my http/https traffic from home through it. I know how to configure my browser to talk to the proxy, I just don't know how to set it up server side. I'd also like to have authentication so that only I can use it

I've been using lighttpd as a development webserver for an scgi based webapp I'm building. I was very impressed with its ease of configuration and automatic load balancing between scgi processes. Getting mod_scgi to work in Apache was a nightmare.

I haven't encountered any problems in my development environment, but it seems that it's no longer in active development (last release was August). The email list and forums are generally dead. Although this isn't itself evidence of a problem, inactivity seems to raise questions.

I am a user on a Solaris 10 system and I wish to maintain my own version of /etc/hosts. This file will function like a normal /etc/hosts, except it will only resolve hosts from processes that I run.

Since I do not have the ability to write to /etc/hosts and I do not wish to have to ask the adminstrator to reconfigure it for me. (please don't go into this more)

I am open to other alternatives that will allow a non-privileged user the ability to add custom host names. The solution must not involve the superuser doing anything.

There is a domain name I want to use for a new business I am starting. It is a perfect fit and I really have my heart set on getting it.

Only the .com of the name is registered, and I'm pretty sure the owner has forgotten about the domain. No changes have been made in 3 years, and the WHOIS information is a (almost funny) dead-end

• Listed email bounces
• Listed telephone goes to wrong number
• Listed mailing address physically no longer exists (I looked it up on Google streets, the nearby houses have been demolished and it looks like it's being turned into an apartment complex)
• Owner name is "D Smith" (do I have to call every D Smith in the region?)

My question: Is there any way to track down the owner of a domain besides the WHOIS record?
