The Catalyst 3750 Series switch has a front panel button which erases the config and reboots the switch if pressed more than 10 seconds.
In a dense Rack it happened more than once to me that cables pressed the button and therefore resetted the switch to factory default.
Searching through the cisco docs and asking aunt google I haven't found a way to disable this behavior, does someone here know how to disable this?
I am considering to clean these bits on the border of our network. Is this considered harmfull or evil?

We have ingress traffic from the Internet to some mobiloe Devices behind a IPSec Tunnel's to mobile network operator GGSN's.

Some of this ingress traffic from the internet is marked with a TOS of 0x03, remarkably all traffic from a german cable ISP named UnityMedia.
For a at the moment unknown reasons the IPSec Implemetation on the IPSec Router decides to throw away all packages marked with a TOS of 0x01 or 0x03. Regarding this I had a question asked here.
As workaround I would remove the ECN related bits from the TOS field on my border router but on the other side I am not sure if I could generate a new problem by doing so, and therefore my question:
Is this considered harmfull or evil?
I have a Linux IPSec Tunnel between a GGSN of a network operator and our data center. The IPSec works fine for all traffic but IP Packets coming from our side and are marked with ECN bit set to 0x3 (CE, Congestion experianced) will not encrypted and forwarded to the tunnel.
The Tunnel is setup without ECN support, but for my understanding this should not lead to a packet drop.
Linux Kernel Version is 2.6.18-6-xen-amd64 #1 SMP Fri Dec 12 07:02:03 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux (quite old but the xen infrastructure does not allow newer kernels)
Keying Daemon is racoon 0.7.3
Any hints how to overcome this problem?
I'm just struggling with a IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack Setup for our new hosting environment. As central routers/switches I've got two Cisco Catalyst 3750G-48TS. The switches are not stacked, for IPv4 they are identically configured for routing and HSRP for redundancy on the first hop.
For Ipv6 I've tried to use the same configuration with routing and HSRP, but I had to learn that the Cisco switches are only able to do HSRP for IPv4 or IPv6
Now I am trying to find a working setup for IPv6 with the given equipment and I've got a couple questions:
IPv6 does Router advertisements and the network devices are learning these routers. How fast does the network devices mitigate a outage of a router?
Given that the IPv6 RA is distributing the routers, what does HSRP good to a IPv6 network?

Recently I have deployed some HP server with SSD's behind a SmartArray P410 controller. While not official supported from HP the server work well sofar.
Now I like to get wear level info's, error statistics etc from the drive. While the SA P410 supports a passthru of the SMART Command to a single drive in the array the output I was not able to the the interesting things from the drive.
In this case especially the value the Wear level indicator is from interest for me (Attr.ID 233), but this is ony present if the drive is directly attanched to a SATA Controller.

Do I hunt here a bug, or is this a limitation of the p410 SMART cmd Passthru?
We have some Telco-Equipment in our data space center which we had been given by our Telco. What they didn't provide is a redundant power supply and therefore we are struggling with outages of this equipment.
What I am searching for is a redundant Power-Supply for 60V and 600W
Any suggestions?
