Is there a way to get Apache2 requests per second or stats similar to what mod_status outputs without having to install mod_status or watch log files.

I am trying to resize the DomU root Filesystem. (VolGroup00-LogVol01) I realize that I now need to resize the partition XVDA2, however when I try doing this with parted on Dom0 it just tells me "Error: Could not detect file system."
So to resize the root part VolGroup-LogVol00 shouldn't the process be:
# Shut down DomU
xm shutdown domU
#Resize Dom0 Logical volume
lvextend -L+2G /dev/volumes/domU-vol
# Parted
parted /dev/volumes/domU-vol
# Resize root partition
resize 2 START END
(This is where I get an error) "Error: Could not detect file system."
# add the vm volume group to Dom0 lvm
kpartx -a /dev/volumes/domU-vol

And then obviously increase the fs, remove the device from kpartx etc
The problem is I dont know how to resize the partition? How do I resize this partition so I can run pvresize on the DomU?

I am running MySQL 5.5.9 x86_64 RPM as downloaded from mysql.com. Running on CentOS 5.5 Xen DomU.
I have enabled the Query_cache however MySQL NEVER uses it. All of my tables are InnoDB. Why is the Qcache never hit?
UPDATE 2: I have found this is limited to schemas with - in the name. Creating a new Schema eg new-db, query cache fails. Unfortunatly I have 148 existing Schama, all with '-' in their names.
UPDATE this appears to be limited to schemas that were dumped and imported from a pervious version of MySQL (5.0.32) Creating a new schema and querying tables in this query cache works as expected.

I have a Debian Xen DomU which has a DRBD mounted partition. I needed to resize this partition from 46G to 50G. I did the following:
- Stopped DRBD on the secondary node:
/etc/init.d/drbd stop
- Increased the underlying LVM dist to 50 GB:
lvresize -L 50G /lvm/device
- Started DRBD again and waited for the disk to sync:
/etc/init.d/drbd start
- Switched Primaries. And performed the same on the other node.
- Stopped drbd on the now secondary DRBD node:
/etc/init.d/drbd stop
- Increased the underlying LVM:
lvresize -L 50G /lvm/device
- Started DRBD again and waited for the disk to sync:
/etc/init.d/drbd start
- On both nodes issued:
drbdadm resize drbd-device
- On the primary node issued a:
resize2fs /dev/drbd0
I get this response:

The filesystem is already 12058624 blocks long. Nothing to do!
Using fdisk, both the drbd0 and the sda device drbd is using report the size of the device as 49392123904. Which is consistent with what resize2fs is saying. (12058624x4096 [blocksize]).
My issue is that df
isn't reporting the change to the disk size.

I have done this process before and had no issues. Is there something I am missing?
TL;DR - Having some IO based issues with InnoDB. Before I sign the form to request more hardware can you have a look and see if you agree with my assessment
Working for a client, I have inherited a large InnoDB MySQL database server. The data size of all tables (across about 180 schema) according to Information_Schema is about 34.9GB with a total size of about 38GB.
It is sitting on a Xen DomU (Debian) that is also running heartbeat and DRBD (in active/passive) to sync the data_dir partition across a gigibit crossover and to provide failover. NOTE: the web servers, caching servers and database servers are all Xen virtual servers sitting on two servers for redundancy and failover.
The total data size consists of about 25GB of BLOB data (Images, Videos, File Uploads etc) that is stored in the database to allow for multiple front end web servers that cache these files on their local filesystem. The caches on these servers is probably flushed on average about 10 times a week.
The rest of the data (about 9GB) is actual content that is updated often. There multiple web servers at the front end and also static file caches sitting in front of these. Still the web servers are doing about 500k hits a day. The web servers only ever get loaded when the databases are waiting on IO and seem to be able to handle a large amount of queries and connections before this happens.
The application is a PHP based CMS called eZ Publish. We are hosting about 90 sites off of this setup.
InnoTop is showing about 40 Million queries per day. On average about 500 qps. The database server has 2 CPUs, one is hardly ever used, running a 32Bit kernel and has 2GB of ram. 512MBs have been allocated to the InnoDB buffer pool. I am aware that this isn't much. The server doesn't have any more free.
Based on the below outputs and from reading online blogs and this Book I have concluded that the server is grossly under resourced and we would benefit a lot if we had enough memory to store the 9GB of data that is access frequently (if not all of the 35GB of data) and/or faster disks replicated over at least 10GB fiber channel.
Does that assessment seem accurate? Is there any settings I can change here that will give any performance benefit?

Some path settings were removed due to character limits.
I have an Apache web server hosting a number of sites. On some sites there is HTTP Basic Authentication. I allow some hosts access to the site effectively bypassing the HTTP Auth.
For example:
Allow from 10.10.
I am now placing a Varnish caching server in front of the web server and now all requests to the web server appear as they have come from the varnish server (192.168.1.101).
The white-listed IP addresses that used to be allowed to access the sites without HTTP authentication are now being prompted for HTTP authorization.
I cant set allow from 192.168 as this effectively allows the entire web access. So my question is. Is there any way I can get varnish to pass the client IP address to the backend server to prevent this from occurring? Or does anyone know another way around this issue? Thanks in advance.
I have an issue with the web interface for Sympa mailing list server. If you try to download an attachment from a message that's in moderation, the file is zero length. The mime headers are being sent correctly.
The attachment is in the raw email, I can confirm this, as when the mail is archived the attachment is available, same is the case if you forward the message on to an external address. I have also found the raw email in the spool directory and confirmed the multi part message exists.
I am looking for some advice on where I should be looking. I am not a PERL developer, but have years experience with other languages. I can only assume that this should be a configuration issue. I am just not sure if I should be looking at the FASTCGI config or the Sympa config.
Any help or ideas will be much appreciated.

- I have a few different installations of Sympa on different servers and have the same issue on each.
- I am running an older version of Sympa (It's the current one in Debian 5) and it's not really an option for this client to maintain their own packages.
- This is only when you are moderating a message. All other times the attachments are not zero length.
- Max file attachments are set to 5MB, I am testing with a PDF attachment of ~80K.
