At the moment, I am using an Nginx frontend to cache static content for my DotNetNuke based website hosted at the hypotetical address www.mydomain.com, along with some other tasks.

In this era of inbound marketing, I am thinking about hosting a blog or some other kind of article database with relevant content, but I want to have the blog hosted on my main domain, not a sub domain.

So, can i use Nginx to forward all traffic from www.mydomain.com/blog/* to a separate web application (possibly wordpress), while still send all other traffic to www.mydomain.com/* except for the /blog/* folder to DNN like before?

And would google and other search engines then completely accept and index the wordpress articles as pages at the main url along with the dnn stuff?

Edit: Since SEO is my main objective with this, is there antall gotchas with regards to getting the optimal http response codes for the content pages?

we have an old server that we want to dedicate fully as a public webserver (hosting a few DotNetNuke sites), and for this purpose we would like to install SQL Server Express (probably 2008) on the server and thus have both the Database server and the Web Server on the machine.

But: The databases for the webserver are hosted on a SQL Server 2005 Standard today.

So the question is: Is it possible to move a database from a Standard Server to an Express Server?

I have a server that is running Windows 2008 64 bit Hyper-V, with 8 gigs of RAM and Intel Xeon X3440 @ 2.53 Ghz, which gives me 8 logical cores in the performance monitor on the host system.

I have set up three Virtual Machines, all running Windows 2008 32 bit.

1. Build server, running Team City
2. Staging server
3. SQL Server, running SQL Server 2005

I have some troubles with the setup in that the host monitor remains responsive at all times, even though the VM's are seemingly working at 100% cpu and are very sluggish and unresponsive. (I have asked a separate question about that.)

So the question here is: What is the best way to monitor how the physical CPU's are actually utilized? The reason I am asking is that I am being told that i cannot reliably use the task manager to monitor CPU usage in a VM.

These three machines are running very sluggishly, they are at 100% cpu even though the host system is barely using any cpu at all, typically below 10% total.

Could anyone please give some tips as to the best setup for CPU allocating? Should I have set each server to have two cores, or should I increase this number above the total number of cores on the host?

What is a good number to set on the Virtual Machine Reserve and Virtual Machine Limit?

Is 8 gigs of physical RAM insufficient for 3 VM's?
