I am trying to install Linux Mint 13 on my VirtualBox. I created a new VB hard drive with a dynamically allocated size of 8GB (I have tried with fixed size as well). I have tried installing Linux Mint 13 64-bit and 32-bit and every time during install, it sees the hard drive size as 8.6GB (bigger than I made the drive to be) and if I proceed, after install it only sees the drive size as 4.5GB and of course fills up very quickly.

I am on a Windows 7 64-bit host OS with 8GB of memory (4GB which I have been allocating to the guest). I didn't have any issues with install. Everything goes smoothly until the drive size is shown in my guest.

What am I doing wrong? Should I try an earlier version (I have already downloaded both architectures of 13)?

I was following this tutorial trying to set up keys so I can log in without a password http://linux-sxs.org/networking/openssh.putty.html

Problem is, I followed his instructions except, I generated the key locally, and unless you did exactly as he said, you lock yourself out, which I did (had the "oh crap" moment after I d/c). Now I'm locked out. Is there any way I can backdoor into the server to undo what I did or do I have to start over?

I have been in IT for a long time now doing software development and some system/server administration, but all mostly software-related services. I would like to help set up a small business (~50 employees) with Asterisk, but I am not very familiar with how the whole T1, data/voice channels, etc work. I have set up a personal Asterisk server (functional), but have not done so with a pipe like a T1 (which sounds more complex than residential cable/DSL).

Are there any resources out there to help me understand what may be needed of me to help set this business up with Asterisk and re-use their existing T1 pipe?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone says the original configuration for your kernel should be in /boot/config-uname -r but the only thing I see is memtest86+.bin. Any suggestions? I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and kernel 2.6.32.16-linode28.

I have a LAMP server which hosts multiple sites. That server has a static IP address. What I would like to do is to point different domain names to different virtual hosts. For example:

Domain Names abc.com xyz.com

Virtual Host Paths /var/www/sites/abc /var/www/sites/xyz

I would like to have abc.com point to the /var/www/sites/abc site and xyz.com to point to the /var/www/sites/xyz site.

Is this possible? If so, what do I need to do from both an Apache and DNS configuration standpoint?

It is also worth noting my host is Linode.

I have a jar that runs forever (infinite loop with socket listening thread) and need it to run in the background at all times. An example would be: "java -jar test.jar" How do I do this? Thanks in advance!

I am trying to get the phone number customers dialed when calling in. I have tried all of the CALLERID options available but to no avail. Any ides?
