Is there any way to automatically redirect users which connect to a SBS 2008 to another server using same credentials?

For example, I’ve two servers: mainserver and applicationserver. There is not external access to the applicationserver so I was wondering if there was a possibility to automatic open a remote desktop connection to it from the mainserver. So if the user johndoe connects thru a remote desktop to the mainserver he will automatically be forwarded to the applicationserver with the same username and password he used to connect to the mainserver.

The mainserver is running SBS 2008 by the way.

I hope I’ve described the scenario correctly otherwise please let me know and I’ll try to explain it better.

I’m having some difficulties installing the Cisco ASA 5505 firewall at my company. We had an old firewall (Zyxel) which caused a lot of problems so I was recommended the ASA 5505 firewall from Cisco.

The old setup on the Zyxel was two Ethernet cables: A WLAN cable and a LAN cable. On the back of the Zyxel firewall it was fairly easy because there is only two sockets stating: WLAN and LAN so plug them in and there is connection to the Internet.

But when I’m trying to follow the same kind of pattern on my Cisco I get no connection. I plug the WLAN cable into the port 0 (the outside port) and a cable which runs up to our switch into port 1 (as it state in the manual) but I get no connection what so ever.

Right now, the configuration looks like this:

Internet --> Model --> ASA --> Switch --> PC’s and Servers

Am I missing something? I should say, it is my first time installing a hardware firewall so I might misunderstand something.

I’m facing a puzzling problem. I’ve just been asked to give access to a former employee’s mailbox. I found the user in our AD and checked if he was sat as disabled but he wasn’t. I reset his password and tried to access his mailbox. But the POST program gave me an error and stated that the mailbox couldn’t be found.

I entered the Exchange Management Console but couldn’t found the user or mailbox for this particular employee. I’m almost sure that I didn’t disconnected or deleted his mailbox cause I’ve probed his mailbox on earlier occasions when needed to find specific mails. I looked in the disconnected mailbox view but I couldn’t find it there either.
After some googling around I tried to run the clean-mailboxdatabase command from the command line interface, but with no luck.

I seems like it just disappeared and is the only one (we have plenty of other former employee mailboxes). I later read that if I delete a mailbox in Exchange, it will automatically delete the user in the AD as well and seen that the user is still active in our AD I conclude that I haven’t deleted the mailbox.

Is there any way or anywhere to find the mailbox? Any answer, suggestions or advice is well received.

My companies currently hardware firewall (an old ZyXEL ZyWALL firewall) and is indeed requiring an update to a new firewall.

It is a small company with a similar small server-environment, so the need for a huge, complex and expensive solution isn’t there but a more “straight-forward” firewall, that can provide the necessary security to our systems and block unwanted elements from the core server and only accept access through our one server which is used as an “gateway” between the Internet and our internal network.

I haven’t that much experience with hardware firewalls so I’m requesting any good advice and/or knowledge on which products will be suited for our specific need.

I’ve a need to create an auto-reply for some of the users in my organization where, when a person sends an E-mail to e.g. [email protected] is faced with an automatically auto-reply with some message “closed during the holidays. We are back at… etc. etc. etc.”.

I’ve tried to create a Transport Rule on our Exchange server but the only option I can find in the actions-window is to reply with a “Bounce message to sender with enhanced status code” but I guess that is not the precise action I’m looking for.

How can I set up a server-side auto-reply, apply it to only a fixed number of users in my organization and create a message to the senders (which is outside the organization)?

In my organization some of the employees are located elsewhere from headquarters and therefore they are using Outlook Web Access (OWA) to receive and send E-mails.

The problem lies in the format in how E-mails are sending and forwarded. When receiving an E-mail which has HTML context (e.g. tables) it shows it right enough but when the same E-mail is forwarded it completely disturbs the layout and it seems like it can only send in pure text.

Is there any way I can enable HTML to be used for sending and forwarding E-mails through OWA, either via the settings in OWA or our Exchange server?

I’m working on my companies Sharepoint Intranet site which runs on a Sharepoint Service 3.0. Everything works fine except one thing.

I want to create a sort of employee list with all the information about the employee, like phone, e-mail, name, position in the company, etc. The thing is, that all that information already are in our Active Directory, so I want to extract that data and create the employee list from the AD instead of writing it all down again. Furthermore, it would be to great help regarding updates and maintenance of the employees that it only changes has to occur in the AD.

I hope I’ve explained my problem correctly otherwise, please let me know.

I have created a distributed group which have to send a auto reply when receiving a mail. I know that it is impossible to send a auto reply within a distributed group, but following a guide I have created a mail account called “noreply”.

In outlook I have created a rule in the “noreply” account where I chose following conditions:

Send to a person or distributed list (where I selected my distributed group)

Then to specify what to do with that message I selected

Have server reply using a specific message

I’ve created my message and saved it.

But when I try to write an e-mail to the distributed group it doesn’t send back the reply message.

Does anyone knows what I’m doing wrong?

I'm working on my companies Intranet via Sharepoint Service 3.0 but I'm having quite some difficulties trying to "open" the Intranet to remote or external access via a browser.

It is important because not every employee is located within the local network area and they have to be able to get access when on business trips and more.

I've tried to scout Google for a solution but everything I've tried so far has not given any result. I thought I got it today but now it seems to get a timeout when trying to connect via the URL: https://remote.ourdomain.com:port/

Please ask if you need some additional information

I was wondering if it is possible, in Exchange server 2010, to disable a mailbox account, lets call it mailuser and if anyone sends a E-mail for [email protected] then it will send a mail back with some sort of standard "This E-mail is no longer in use. Please write to [email protected] instead" mail.

I know I can create an "out-of-office" reply from the users outlook, but it would be so much faster to do it within the exchange server.

I have two users in my Exchange 2010 server where one user no longer is employed but we need access to the mails. I cannot find any function to reset the users password so my question is if it is possible to merge the users mailbox into another users?
