I have a mailbox on my server which accepts POP and IMAP connections. If I connect one remote client via POP and another remote client via IMAP, what will happen?
Will the emails remain on the server or will they be removed to the POP client?

I am using QMail with Plesk 10 on an Apache server.
Occasionally the mail queue stops processing emails - this most recently happenend when an email account got hacked and started sending hundreds of emails.
We did not find out about this until a client of ours contacted to say that their emails were not being recieved, so we checked the mail queue and lo and behold the service had stopped.
In future I would like to be notified when the mailqueue stops.
How can I set something up so the server will run a command whenever the mailqueue stops?
Let me expand...
I have a client who is unhappy with their current hosting situation. They want me to move their website and domain across to my hosting platform. I can do this.
However I have realised that the company has:
1) A number of existing IMAP accounts
I understand that I can use a tool like imapsync in order to transfer the mailboxes and hopefully incur only a small amount of downtime with the emails during this process. Can anyone offer any advice regarding the transfer of IMAP mailboxes from one server to another.?
2) An SMTP Relay
Another company supplies my client with an SMTP relay. I've only really just found out what this is. I understand that emails are sometimes undelivered to the client and a mail relay routes incoming mails through another (more reliable?) server in order to keep trying to resend emails so none are missed.
Is this neccessary in this day and age? Does my Plesk 10 Panel Linux Server come with any internal mail relay? Maybe I could use another service like mailjet or elasticemail instead?
Our company has a server (VPS) which runs qmail. I have a number of IMAP mailboxes under our domain on this server and I want to find out how many emails are sent from our domain over a certain period (i.e. one month). Is there any way of doing this?
OK I'll be more specific - I have uploaded a bunch of folders via ftp. These now all have the the owner name of the account which I logged into FTP using.
How do I change the owner to be the server name?
and
How do I find out what name the server is using?
I'm pretty new to server permissions and the like, so please be gentle :) BTW, I'm using a linux server.
