I need to physically locate printers. The only information I have for the printer is the network location E.G. \\xxxx\yyyy. I tried performing a Find in Active Directory Users and Computers. I tried:
Find "Printers" in "Entire Directory" then searched by printer Name, Location, Model and tried a few fields in Advanced tab. No luck.
Is what I am doing possible?
I have a web application directory (subsite of the main - default website). I want to update the Alias that I originally chose. How do I do it in IIS7?

I read that Windows server is constricted to 20 characters maximum user name length. What is the maximum domain name length?
This way I can store the values in a database with the correct length:
DOMAIN\USERNAME = 21 characters + domainNameMaxLength = ?
I am working with an administrator at my company. We recently added MS ISA 2006. I do not have access to the server, so my question is more theory based.
Is it possible to setup ISA to route HTTP traffic to the same physical server using both standard port 80 and nonstandard port, say 8989?

Does blackberry support the addition of appointments sent as attachments via email or MMS like the iCalendar format?
iCalendar (aka RFC 2445) has the file extension *.ics or *.vcs (v2.0, v1.0 respectively). I cannot find a solid answer/evidence (E.G. RIM publication) as to whether, and to what degree, Blackberry supports this standard.
I created a simple.ics file and sent it as a mail attachment to my blackberry. I get error "This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device". I also tried sending via MMS and following the procedure for opening iCalendar files on the blackberry 9800. I have a blackberry Tour (9630) and the procedure doesn't work for me.
If anyone has any solid documentation (not forum postings) with an answer that would be awesome. I'm open to ideas/suggestions. We do have a BES server.

Back in the day the rule of thumb was "2.5 x Amount of RAM" = amount of virtual memory you need. So if you have 500MB of RAM you need 1.25GB of free hard drive space for VM. Does this general rule of thumb still apply today where we have RAM upwards of 4GB?
In AD is it possible to associate a user account with a computer account in some way? The idea is that I want to write a program to query AD for the computer(s) that a user owns.
Background I have two environments, TEST and STAGE. I use Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) with two linked 2008 SQL servers. A SQL job runs every couple of minutes and everything works fine on TEST. The SQL job does not run on STAGE. The only difference I have been able to pinpoint is that ping resolves to an IPv6 address on STAGE, but an IPV4 address on TEST. I suspect that MS DTC does not support IPv6.
Question I have three computers: testServer, stageServer, and productionServer. If I ping productionServer from testServer I get a reply from 192.168.1.2. If I ping productionServer from stageServer I get a reply from a long IPv6 address. Both testServer and stageServer have IPv6 and IPv4 enabled. Both testServer and stageServer use the same DNS servers, listed in the same order in the DNS tab. Why are the ping resolutions of IP's different?
