I get this error when I try to start the machine. There are free IP addresses (both floating and fixed). I tried to look about it on the web, but no luck (there is an answer somewhere which doesnt solve my problem).

I have a big problem that doesn't seem to be covered by the migration documentation from Apple. I installed a fresh Lion server on a backup MacMini and I started migrating services. Wiki and OD migrated with some problems that can be solved (links are different in wiki and OD migrated without password because the old configuration was wrong.. but anyway, not these are my problems), but Calendar service (new version, 3) has no Data directory. As far as I can see all "ics" information is now stored in PostgreSQL. Do you have any idea how can I migrate old ics files (from a snow leo server) to this new structure (lion server with postgresql)?

Do you have any idea if there is any easier solution to pass the requests to different upstreams based on the visitor's ip address?

The only solution that I found at the moment is:

upstream live {
    ip_hash;
    server 10.0.0.1;
}

    proxy_pass http://live;

This solves the problem if you have just on "location" and just one ip address that should go to the "test" upstream. I tried the if statement when including the config files (not working). I also tried to put the if when the upstreams are declared (same, not working).

So if someone is doing something similar, help would be appreciated (I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem). I need this solution for our developers to test on the real env ... and that's because the payment solution that we are using allows us to send requests only from the current infrastructure.

Do you have any idea about a firewall software that it's capable to maintain multiple Linux machines via a web interface (or GUI)? I created myself such an application, but it's far from being usable on large scale. So I was wondering if there is any application that can store all firewall rules on one server and every server can start its firewall based on the rules located there. Also, a GUI would be a bonus.

Is it possible to copy all content from a Mac LDAP server (which is proprietary modified OpenLDAP). Doesn't matter if I have to do it by replication (which I think is even harder) or copying the datastore from the Mac to the linux box running OpenLDAP.

I created a shell script that asks the connected user a question and after that it give him the prompt. The shell posts the question to a database for logging. The problem is that our developers are using a shared account, but each user has it's private key. Is there any way to read with the shell script (bash) what public key the connected user has?

On a project I need to use a database of users that is stored on a Mac Server based LDAP to create a mailserver using postfix+courier and a samba. Can you tell me if anyone made this or if it's possible (theoretical should be). If you can give me a hint I will thank you for the rest of my days :)

I had a problem yesterday with a server that lost connection (S1). From that server, there was a dir shared with NFS to another one (S2), no homedir and not in $PATH, but a dir to store old files for archiving. S1 was back online after a few hours, but now I cannot access S2 because of this (and I'm sure it's because of that because all other services are running without any problem). The ssh connection hangs here: debug1: Entering interactive session. I know a reboot will do the job, but considering this is the NAS of a big app, my bosses will kill me if I do it. Is there any other way to get over this? I tried with different users, but all of them hang in the same place. I connected with HP iLO and not even there I cannot use my username.

I have a cluster of webservers running on apache-php (with prefork). I'm planning to move from prefork to worker (fcgi). The problem is that I cannot move all servers at once so for a short period of times (matter of days) few of them will be on fcgi and some on modphp. I tested today if the sessions are going to work between these two kind of servers (a test server with fcgi and a real with mod_php) and looks like not, I'm getting logged out when my proxy (basic nginx) is redirecting me from a ws with fcgi to one with mod_php. The application that is hosted on these servers is a magento with few modifications (nothing on the core). If I take the proxy out, everything works perfect, I can change from a node to another and the session is the same.

Is there anything in nginx that can cause this? Below is a part of the config of nginx:

I want to save the email that are going to a list of our customers to a archive email box. So if one of the employees is sending an email to [email protected] from [email protected], I want that email to go (as BCC) to [email protected]. At the moment we are using Thunderbird configured with BCC, but for some reason, some of the employees are deleting that line... I need something idiot proof. Is this possible using postfix? Can you give me a hint?

Is there any way to simulate these errors? I created some custom files for it, but I want to be sure that are displayed correctly. I made different message for every vhost.
