We are having issues with frequently locked out accounts.

We are having 4771 {Bad Password} events on our main DC. Issue: Within the event, the client machine is not properly shown. Instead another DC is shown as client host name: enter image description here

only in rare occasions the actual client host name is shown. What could be the cause for this?

I have a GPU server which requires cuda for example for machine learning tasks.

unfortunately, as soon as I install the NVIDIA drivers and cuda, apparently a variant of gnome is installed as well. This gnome variant can almost do nothing, the shell is not working and apparently it comes with some desktop settings which are really annoying me.

For example per default, it sets shutdown after 20 minutes inactivity. For a Server, this is very suboptimal to call it this way.

Do you know how to install the drivers and the cuda toolkit without gnome or (less preferrably) remove gnome after the fact and all its stuff (such as the 20 minute idle setting) which I definitely do not want on my Server?

I am planning to migrate from a Windows operating System to a Unix based System.

My thought fell to ubuntu server at first but I have not put much thought into which distro to use yet.

Right now, there are 5 * 14.5 TB hdds packed full with important company Data initialized with GPT. Will it be possible to "plug and play" those drives or is it better to back them up, reinitialize /format them in my Unix server and restore the Data from backup? I would like to minimize downtime but it might be the most clean solution.

I have the following Situation which I do not understand:

Situation until now
1. I have a shared o365 mailbox "AppSupport"

  1. Within the mailbox there is a rule prefixing the subject line with "[AppSupport]" - this works fine

  2. After prefixing the mail, it should be forwarded to an external Jira adress but remain within the application support mailbox for applying other Rules We used to do this with the "Connected Account setting" which worked fine.

Issue
Just recently however, it forwarded the mails before adding the prefix so the tickets went into the wrong queue in Jira.

Because of that, I changed the forward into a second rule where I can set the priority:

redirect rule

  • the first rule applies the prefix (working)
  • the second rule forwards the email (working)

BUT after a successful forward or redirect, the email is deleted. I can not find the email in sent items, junk or deleted items. Its just not there in the inbox. However, the ticketsystem receives the email successfully.

Furthermore, when I add another action such as "after forwarding, mark the mail as read" the email is no longer forwarded. Instead a warning is displayed saying that external forwarding is prohibited, eventhough an exception is made within exchange online:

Does anybody kow why the email is deleted without a sign of it and how I can stop that?
