We have a Visio VX32L tv in our lobby that displays a web page welcoming visitors to our company. Currently there is a Dell GX260 workstation running windows xp that is used to display the web page. I am trying to replace the windows install with Ubuntu but I am having issues with the video.

I have installed 10.04 in my office with the workstation hooked up to a 17" NEC monitor. Everything works fine, the display is correct and I have plenty of options to change the screen resolution etc. I then take the workstation up to the lobby and hook it up and this is where the trouble starts. I get the Dell BIOS screen, no problem. Then it displays the start of the Ubuntu splash screen for a second and immediately goes away displaying "No Input Signal". I have reconnected it to the 17" monitor and set the resolution to one that I know the lobby screen supports but I receive the same results. The windows xp install displays fine and there were no special drivers needed. I had origianlly tried using 10.10 and it would display on both monitors but I had no options to change the screen resolution at either place. From what I found through Google, this was a common issue on 10.10 so I dropped back to 10.04. 10.04 is halfway there buts still not 100%. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am trying to introduce Ubuntu to our workplace but it is just not cooperating!!!

Can someone tell me the commands to view the status or logs of our backup jobs that are running on our AS400? Our sysadmin decided to walk out last week and I would like to check on these jobs to ensure that everything is running ok. Also, how can I see the properties of the backup job? I would like to ensure that all the proper tables etc are being backed up appropriately.

I have inherited a Siemens se5940 T1 gateway that I would like to reset and put into use. I have been looking around for a manual but I'm not having much luck. Is anyone aware of a manual that can be downloaded? I need to reset the unit and reconfigure it if anyone can provide any info, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am running Exim4 on Ubuntu 10.04, using it for sending emails out from various programs on our LAN. I have program that sends out approx. 60 emails once a month and Exim's default setting of only sending out 10 emails prior to the remaining being queued is causing an inconvenience in this case. In the Exim log files, I receive a notification of: "no immediate delivery: more than 10 messages received in one connection". I have scoured the internet but have not found a fix. I have added this line: smtp_accept_queue_per_connection=100 to /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf and restarted Exim but this does nothing. I have also tried smtp_accept_queue_per_connection=0 but this does not accomplish anything either. Can anyone shed some light on what setting needs to be changed to allow more than 10 emails to be sent at one time? Thanks.

I am looking to install the free VMware ESXi on an existing server that currently has Windows Server 2003 installed. We currently have a box running VMware server but this will be my first run in with ESXi. The RAID configuration is already setup as I want but I'm wondering if I should first format the drives using something like gParted or will the ESXi installer format the drives prior to install? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My firm just switched to Google Apps Premiere addition 2 weeks ago and aside from the way Google handles shared contacts, things are going quite well.

Previously, on our Exchange server we had numerous shared contact lists set up in the shared folders. We had a separate list for vendors, sales agents, etc.. Is there not a way to set up lists or groups such as this on the domain level in Google Apps? I have found a ton of forums with users asking the same question but no good answers unless you purchase some third party app in the marketplace.

I have toyed around with the "google-shared-contacts-client" here: http://code.google.com/p/google-shared-contacts-client/ and this almost does it but it falls short when trying to group contacts on the domain level or when trying to search for a contact by company name. Are either of these things possible?

I am now looking to create a Google Doc spreadsheet to share with the domain just to have a separated defined list of contacts that is search-able by various fields...

Anyone who could shed some light on domain level contact sharing relating to the points above, I would be most grateful...

We are currently using this SMTP server by Argosoft for sending emails from various web applications running on different servers throughout our network. This thing runs great but I would like to ditch the windows based app and set up a VM running Ubuntu 10.04 as a replacement. All I need is a simple SMTP server to handle sending emails, It does not need to receive but it does need to send mail from other servers on the network. I've googled around a bit but everything seems to be more complex than what I need. Can anyone recommend a good "How-To" article on setting up a SMTP server such as this? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

We are currently running RightFax 9.3 as our fax server. I was just in the RightFax Enterprise Fax Manager resolving another problem and noticed 2 little red exclamation marks in the lower left hand pane. I have one beside "Available disk space for fax images" and one beside "Available disk space for fax database". Both are labeled with 5%? What is this? How can this be resolved? I have plenty of physical storage left on the server drives so I am curious as to which space it is referring to??
