My users want to use an iPad to print to our network printers. The printers are shared using a Windows 2008 R2 Server. I've looked into getting AirPrint to work but haven't had any success.
I would consider a Mac OS X VM or maybe a mac mini on the network.
I have a Dell Server with 6 1TB Drives in it. Currently the drives are configured into two RAID groups:

I was asked to set up a video conference between my company which currently has no video conference equipment and a location that has a Tandberg Edge 95.
I've looked at the product data sheet. But I'm a bit confused as to what to look for.
Is the format entirely proprietary, or are there other brands that are compatible? Could I buy a pc-based system that would talk to the Tandberg Edge 95? Or is the answer really just that I need my own Tandberg?
I had a disk experience a predictive failure. As a result, I removed the drive and replaced it.
Now that I have the drive removed, I would like to sanitize it. What is the easiest way to go about that?

I am trying to more closely audit my users access of files located on a file share. The files share is served by a server running windows server 2008 R2 and running the Windows Search Service. I am having a problem with too many Event 4663's ("An attempt was made to access an object").
The problem occurs because when a user browses to a folder using windows explorer and then executes a search on the file share, the system generates an event 4663 for each result returned.
This may generate thousands of events within a minute. Is there any way for me to change the way the search hits are logged? Perhaps the search service could have its own user? Or can i disable the ability to full-text search?
I'm running windows server 2008 R2. When I shutdown my server, it appears to shutdown correctly.
But, when it boots up it prompts me about an unexpected shutdown. I don't have any minidumps and I can't find anything helpful in the event viewer. I do see a Kernel-Power event saying the system shutdown unexpectedly.
That said, if anyone has any suggestions about what to search for in the event viewer, I'm open to giving it a try.

Does anyone know how to export the hotfixes from one Windows Server 2008 R2 computer to another?
I'm building a copy of a windows machine and it would be helpful to me if there was a folder where they were all stored.

If I configure an Active Directory Lockout Policy, then someone can use repeated bad login attempts to lock users out.
How do I block an IP if enough bad login attempts come from it?
Can I do this through IIS or do I need something else?

I have a few access points on one floor of a high-rise building. They support both 2.4 ghz and 5ghz.
When I used 2.4 ghz, the channel management features did not seem to work and we experienced frequent problems. When I switched to 5 ghz the problems went away.
However, the 5ghz standard is much less accepted. And when clients come in, they want 2.4ghz.
What can I do? How can I offer 2.4ghz wi-fi in an area with a lot of interference?
I am in the middle of migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 SP1.
I have moved one mailbox over to the new server EXCHANGE2010 . For some reason if an internal email is sent from someone on EXCHANGE2003 (the old server), it is not delivered to the new mailbox on EXCHANGE2010.
Where should I look to debug this problem? What logs should I consult?
Update: I found the messages in Queues on the old server, listed as messages with an unreachable destination.
I want to install Blackberry Express Server on my Exchange 2010 server for users at my company, but I am wary of simply opening up ports to my server directly to the internet.
Are there any good ways to ensure that inbound traffic is blackberry-only and safe? I know Blackberry does allow a seperate server to be installed in the DMZ, although that would really be overkill for my organization.

I have a new Dell R710 server with 6 hard drives, 2x146GB and 4x300GB. I am installing windows server standard 2008 R2.
Dell recommended a system partition of 146GB in Raid 1 using 2 drives and 600GB in RAID-10 using the other 4. Is this a good configuration?
I am inclined instead to use a 746GB configuration with all 6 drives in RAID-10.
What are your thoughts?

I am looking to distribute the following roles:
1) Domain Controller / Active Directory
2) Exchange (E-mail)
3) File / Print
4) SQL Server
I am leaning towards installing each role on a different server. I think this would be easier for me to configure. Am I foolish to not use Hyper-V or VMWare? What types of factors should I consider when making this decision?
I am trying to upgrade a network that currently has a SBS 2003 Server as it's Domain Controller (DC). I would like to switch over to a Windows Server 2008 R2 DC.
I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that the first step should be to join the new DC to the existing domain.
From there, I am confused as to what I should do. How can I change the domain name to company.com from company.local without causing problems for all of the existing desktops?
We have a server that is running 2003 SBS and is Active Directory Controller. When I try to login to the domain, I receive a message that the domain is not available. I have configured my user account and permissions accordingly. This is a problem that has been observed by others at our firm. It takes multiple attempts to finally have the server accept your login. Does anyone have any ideas about how to troubleshoot this? Should I look at the DNS or the AD Settings? Help!
