I have a reverse proxy Apache that is moving the request to a Tomcat servlet. The configuration on the Virtual Host in Apache is:

<VirtualHost 10.10.10.10:80>
ProxyPass /Site1/ServLet1 http://1.1.1.1/Site1/ServLet1
ProxyPassReverse /Site1/ServLet1 http://1.1.1.1//Site1/ServLet1

ProxyPass /Site2/ServLet2 http://2.2.2.2/Site2/ServLet2
ProxyPassReverse /Site2/ServLet2 http://2.2.2.2/Site1/ServLet1
</VirtualHost>

Essentially, if it comes to 10.10.10.10 and requests /Site1/ServLet1, route it to /Site1/ServLet1.

if I add

so it will show a custom error for site1 (I set the ErrorDocument), it will be served to both.

How can I have a different 404 error page per site maintaining this kind of configuration?

if I modify the configuration based on the comments below like:

<Location /Site1/ServLet1/>
ProxyPass http://1.1.1.1/Site1/ServLet1
ProxyPassReverse http://1.1.1.1/Site1/ServLet1
ErrorDocument 404 /customerrors/site1/404.html
</Location>

Then I can still get to http://1.1.1.1/Site1/ServLet1 but no error page is displayed whatsoever

I have an Apache reverse proxy set to move requests to a Tomcat Applet. The config is similar to:

    ProxyPassReverse /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App
</VirtualHost>

I also have a page called summary.html that exists on 1.1.1.1 as:

http://1.1.1.1/AppName/summary.html

When I browse directly to it I have no problem viewing it, however if I try to get there via the reverse proxy I get a blank page. Wireshark shows me a 503, but this one is coming from the Apache reverse proxy (IP 100.100.100.100) and not the Tomcat (IP 1.1.1.1).

Should I add http://1.1.1.1/AppName/ to the config? How? I tried it but I get a blank page, however this one shows on the URL bar of the browser the internal IP of the Tomcat, so, no go.

Help is appreciated.

I have a Linux box with 2 NICs. I installed and configured Apache 2 for reverse proxy.

Each NIC has its own IP address and I was wondering if there is any way to redirect the requests via Apache based on the IP address that was used to get to the box.

For example: eth0 has IP 100.100.100.100, eth1 has 200.200.200.200

If I browse to http://100.100.100.100/AppName/App I want it to redirect to 1.1.1.1 and if I browse to http://200.200.200.200/AppName/App I want it to go to 2.2.2.2

Right now the configuration for Apache is set as follow

ProxyPass /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App
ProxyPassReverse /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App

So anything going to /AppName/App will be redirected to 1.1.1.1

I was reading something about ProxyHTMLURLMap but I don't know whether this is something that might help.

Any idea how to do this? Thanks!

I'm running an Apache Tomcat server with 2 custom servlets. The tree structure looks like:

$CATALINA_HOME/webapps/
         ROOT/
           WEB-INF/
         servlet1/
           META-INF/
           WEB-INF/
         servlet2/
           META-INF/
           WEB-INF/

I am trying to add a custom error html page for each servlet that will be displayed on error 400, 404 and when there is an exception on the servlet (such as the information that was supposed to be sent to the servlet on the http request is not there)

I added to $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/servlet1/WEB-INF/web.xml

 <error-page>
   <error-code>400</error-code>
   <location>/error.html</location>
 </error-page>
 <error-page>
   <error-code>404</error-code>
   <location>/error.html</location>
 </error-page>
 <error-page>
   <exception-type>java.lang.Throwable</exception-type>

and I created error.html in $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/ROOT/. This doesn't seem to be working. When I type" www.server.com/servlet1/SomRandomStuff to get a 404, a blank page is displayed, not error.html. Something else happens when I call the servlet without passing the correct info to it, the browser will ask me if i want to download a file.
I've tried placing error.html not on ROOT but on the servlet1 directory. Didn't work. I checked that error.html has the correct permissions, it is OK. I am out of ideas and the few tutorials I found online are very vague.

What am I doing wrong? How do I achieve this - display a custom error page per servlet?

I have an Apache 2 running on a Linux box. Currently there at only 2 webpages in different paths:

/website1/site
/website2/site

I set apache to not server directory listings and I set the error documents to show a blank page when hitting something that doesn't exit.
I was wondering, is there any way force Apache to always return 404 or other error every time something other than those two websites are hit?

We are experiencing a lot of probes from proxy list sites and other places and all I want to do is just send an error every time they try / or any other path, without serving anything, not error pages, blank pages, etc.

I have a local drive that contains a directory per user:

c:\user1\
c:\user2\
c:\user3\

and I have a remote drive (via a share) that contains the same directory tree:

f:\user1\
f:\user2\
f:\user3\

inside each directory can be any number of files but they are all .txt. i've been trying to create a batch file that can iterate on the local directories and copy files newer than X timestamp into the corresponding directory on f:.

is there any way to achieve this using xcopy or copy plus some batch magic?

EDIT: to avoid confusion: I need to parse the users directories (can have ANY name), grab the files newer than those copied the last time and copy them to the directory with the same name on F:\

copy . is not what i am trying to do. more like:
