1. What is the proper way to distribute work from the pdc to a bdc for authentication.
2. If the bdc handles authentication, when it increments the bad password count, how is that relayed to the pdc? Does the pdc replicate the bdc (or the bdc is read-only right?)?

We need to determine why a pdc is registering more bad password counts than a bdc so I'd like to first figure out more about how distribution/replication are supposed to work and then troubleshoot.

We have a Sharepoint site that uses Windows based authentication.

We provide links in Sharepoint to a secure web app that uses forms based authentication. Both authenticate against the same AD.

However, the issue is when clicking a link in Sharepoint, they are prompted to re-authenticate when reaching the web app. This is a hassle as their username/password are obviously the same since authenticating against the same source.

Are there any examples or helpful docs on getting single sign-on to work from windows based authentication to forms based authentication?

To import the System.DirectoryServices assembly requires the following commands

create asymmetric key asmKey_DirectoryServices
from executable file = 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.5072
\System.DirectoryServices.dll'

create login asmLogin_DirectoryServices
from asymmetric key asmKey_DirectoryServices

grant unsafe assembly to asmLogin_DirectoryServices

This creates a new login. If I need to import several assemblies, is there a way to use only a single login with multiple asymmetric keys?

I am using Coldfusion 8 which is connecting to SQL Server 2008, the problem is I have updated a table adding a new column in SSMS, but the JDBC connection is still 'seeing' the table prior to the change. How can I essentially 'refresh' the JDBC connection? Would restarting the cf server work?
