My company recently purchased a DrayTek Vigor 2920n to replace an ancient Linksys router that connects to the office DSL service (AT&T). As it's a DSL service from AT&T, the router WAN connection is configured for PPPoE with an MTU of 1492. I've disabled all features in the router except for DHCP and a few NAT port redirections to servers on the internal LAN. Everything on the LAN side runs great, but I'm getting 20%+ packet loss over the WAN interface when sending PINGs to remote addresses. The old Linksys BEFSR41 that we're attempting to replace has 0 packet loss over the WAN.

The DSL modem we have from AT&T is a SpeedStream 5360 (060-5360-002), if that matters.

I'm no networking expert, but I think the configuration is pretty sound here. Is there something obvious that I'm missing that could be the source of the packet loss over the WAN interface? Does anyone know what to look for to attempt to diagnose the issue?

I'm running an Ubuntu 10.04 server that hosts several domain names. All domains point to the same IP address and use the same network interface. I'm really only concerned with the main domain name such as my-domain1.com and my-domain2.com. It should include subdomains such as www.my-domain1.com with the totals for my-domain1.com. Is there a tool out there that is configurable to track bandwidth usage on a per-domain name basis?

Edit: I'm not looking for only web usage. I'm looking for all traffic.

I have an OS X 10.5.8 Leopard Server that I manage here in the office. Right now it has just the standard VNC single password style of authentication for authenticating for screen sharing. Our usernames and passwords are all managed through Leopard Server's Open Directory. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to get Screen Sharing to lookup users in the Open Directory for authentication. It will only authenticate against normal local user accounts on the machine. What I'd ideally like is for screen sharing to look up the user in the directory. Is this possible, and if so, how?
