We have configured VPN in windows 2008 server. Two NIC one public and a loopback adapter with private IP 192.168.2.200.

We can connect via VPN for any users in system and can check the shares \192.168.2.200, however If we try to connect drive \192.168.2.200\c$ for any users other than administrator it gives 'Logon unsuccessful' message. Only administrator can connect.

Now we have shared the C drive to gain access to files for the users connecting to system. I have checked with Firewall and other network and share settings in the server which is fine.

Any idea will be highly appreciated!.

We have configured a VPN server and DHCP and assigned the clients address range as 10.10.1.10-20. The DHCP server is given the router address as 10.10.1.1. When I connect using VPN client the VPN server is giving out the address of 10.10.1.10 as the IP address and gateway but this should be 10.10.1.1. DHCP address given to the clients in the range of 10.10.1.10-10.10.1.20

I have two NIC, once static and another as private. I have used the various options in Routing and Remote access but could not get this done. Now I am having the access to servers share however I need to browse the share on the client that is dialed into the server.

Any ideas highly appreciated.

We have some 10 physical servers running Windows Server 2003. Now we have bought a new xen server.

I have added Windows Server 2008 R2 as host as a guest VM in xen host. Now we are planning to move the physical boxes to xen as VM. I Googled it and could see most people suggested using a P2V tool, but I am not aware of one.

Any clear ideas or steps to do the above mentioned will be really helpful.

Does .Net Rc1/Rc2 is a separate installation from .Net extended and client profile. Can some explain the difference in the application, MVC or RC1

I have connected my local computer in remote desktop connection utility. The client machine I am using is windows XP sp3 with .NET 3.5sp1 . I am connecting to windows 2003 server. However when I go to printer session in 2008 I could not see my local printer in server. I have checked local resources in client machine which establishing remote connection.

I have googled and found various fixes in GP, but could not get the result.

Is there something I am missing it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a command to retrieve the installed application/packages via command line in windows 2003. i.e to get the details of Add/remove programs via the command line same as 'rpm -qa ' in linux.

In my windows machine telnet services are set disabled in windows machine. But when you do:

telnet localhost 25 still the SMTP listens. how can i set not to listen to the service?

It is possible to hide any other folders on the terminal server user's C drive so that the only folders they see are the shared folders they have access to? It isn't a huge issue but I think it would be cleaner and easier if they users only saw the folders they could access. Something like Hidden share

Suddenly IIS gives out blank pages for all the domains in the server. Sometimes, the .html pages does not works which requires IIS reset . But in case of blank pages restarting the server becomes the option. Why these happens with IIS and any specific reasons for that to happen such as hitting memory, etc .

How can I manually install webalizer ? If there is any link providing the details to deploy it to multiple domains. Any help will be highly appreciated.

What are the files which can be deleted in a windows server running IIS where the drives are getting filled up.

Is is possible to auto shrink the log file in IIS or is there an option provide in IIS. The only way I know is to compress the log file directory. If there is any way to auto shrink function that will shrink the file for a particular period.

In a windows server the alloted space for a drive is 450 GB( for example drive G:). But the drive show full all the time. shows 449 GB is used and 1 GB free space. I tried chkdsk with no help. When I try to defragment it ended up with error by giving the message run chkdsk in the drive. How can i identify the problem and set this resolved.

Is there any commands which is same as the function inode in Linux. Any info will be helpful.
