I didn't find any ntpd log file in /var/log. I am wondering where can I find those log files, thanks!

I am wondering is there a way that I can determine which VPS software(Virtuozzo, Xen or OpenVZ) is used to implement the VPS which I am using.
There is a file(644, owner:apache) that I can't delete it using a PHP script with unlink function.
I can't figure it out why unlink fails to delete this file.
BTW, I have tried fclose it before unlink it. Unfortunately, it still didn't work.
“drwxrwxrwx 2 apache apache” apache have write access to the directory.
The load average of my service is high, always around 15.
And the reason for that is the Mysql is overloaded.
I'm wondering How Can I find out which specific query/script consume the most Mysql resources?
