I would act something http://e.ggtimer.com/
when you request http://e.ggtimer.com/5minutes
the server sends the 5minutes
to a script the server so it can do something.
I have an apache 2.2.17 server running on arch Linux.

I have a XAMPP test server running on my Windows Vista laptop. I also have a small wireless router. I would like be able to create a small temp network that could broadcast that network so any other computers connected to the wifi can go to localhost/
or an internal ip address and view my server. The router will not be able to be connected to the internet, but I don't see how that would make a difference
Thanks

I have had bad luck with commercial hosting in the past and wish to make my own web server. I have heard Linux is the way to go. I was wondering what distro you would suggest and any tutorials i could follow.
