Has anyone combined S2D (Storage Spaces Direct) with Data Deduplication?

Is this even possible or recommended practice?

Please elaborate on why this is a good idea or not.

EDIT: Just stumbled across this article https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/filecab/2016/01/05/new-support-for-windows-server-data-deduplication-in-limited-local-hyper-v-configurations/ in regards to Server 2012 R2. It does mention Server 2016, but at the time it wasn't fully released. There's also more info on S2D as well as Data Deduplication on Server 2016 - here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-docs/storage/storage but not much information on using the two together. It seems based on the first url that they have limited functionality when used at the same time.

Can anyone that has an Exagrid in their environment let me know how to check what exactly is residing on the "Landing Zone" vs. the "Retention Zone"? Unfortunately this is not possible with the dashboard.

Any recommendations or help would be much appreciated for converting two Exchange 2007 Maibox Servers to VSphere Virtual Servers.

I have tried more times than I would like to admit with Vcenter Converter and even spent about 7 hours with support from VMWare trying to get it to work unsuccessfully.

I am at a point where I would like to make some kind of backup/restore solution work, but not sure how exactly to do that and can't find great documents or help out there to do this type of operation.

Aside from a backup/restore method, I think my only option is to build up new virtual servers from scratch and attach the db's.

Our Backup solution is NetBackup 6.5.

My Exchange Mailbox servers(2) are running on Server 2003 R2 and they have Exchange Server 2007 SP2 Rollup 4.

Also I don't believe they are clustered as each one has unique mailboxes.

This code works flawlessly about half the time, but the other half I get this error in return:

So if anyone could help me throw in some kind of wait command after the mailbox is created and wait until the user's mailbox is created before the script disables ActiveSync, etc it would be really helpful. I believe that simply using the -wait switch does not work.

I've scoured the interwebs for a few days now off and on to find this. I am creating a powershell script for email-enabling new user's(Exchange 2007).

To give you a little background when we have a new hire, their AD account is created at our off-site helpdesk, but they don't create their email account.

I'm trying to automate the process of mail-enabling the user which involves putting them in the same database as an existing user, disable imap pop activesync, and lastly email the requester of the ticket.

I would like to just get prompted for the New User's name, User to Replicate(mailbox, storage group, database), and the person to email after it's been created.

So if someone could just help with a command to Retrieve a user's Exchange database in powershell that would be great, but if people also want to help with my hacked up script please do so as well!!!

I have been able to setup the Send Connector Logging and it works as expected, but I'm not getting any logging from the Receive Connectors. I have tried enabling via the EMC as well as via powershell and have even tried writing the logs to different locations with no success. They are seemingly not being written at all anywhere. Any help would be appreciated!
