Alright, I have downloaded /etc/sysconfig/memcache
And edited the file that contained "PORT="11211"
USER="memcached"
MAXCONN="1024"
CACHESIZE="64"
OPTIONS="" to 1000 cachesize. I uploaded the file back to the server. Now I know there is a way to check if the changes took effect, but I cant remember how. I tried "memcached-tool 127.0.0.1:11211 stats" but it didnt show me the RAM size.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am currently on a Xeon 7550 server running Redhat x86_64 es5 with 32gb RAM. I have memcache installed and the only step remaining in the configuration is to set how much memory it uses. I had done this on my old server, where I downloaded a file on through Filezilla (root access) and edited it. Now, I cant remember which file I edited and exactly how the process went. I want to set the memery to use 1 GB.
Anyone with some insight? Please be thorough if you will assist, as my linux server knowledge is limited.
I have installed the memcache extension and also memcached. Now what do I need to chance in the php.ini file so that all sessions are handled in memcache?
How can I do this? Im running RedHat x86_64 es5. I heard that a cron job is possible, and some other people talk about a script?

I am trying to install GeoIP on my Redhat x86_64 es5 but im getting errors. The packages im trying to install is:
GeoIP-1.4.7-0.2.20090931cvs.rhel5.x86_64.rpm
GeoIP-devel-1.4.7-0.2.20090931cvs.rhel5.x86_64.rpm
And I get this warning: "warning: GeoIP-devel-1.4.7-0.2.20090931cvs.rhel5.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID b56a8bac". I have done a google search and people say that I can install it with "yum install GeoIP GeoIP-devel GeoIP-data", but running that gives me a no package available notice.
Is there a kind soul out there that could assist? If you cant, please up vote this so that someone that might will see it!
