Is it possible to give a virtual machine a dedicated hard drive in ESX. I want to do this to improve performance but my co worker says it's not possible.
Richard's questions
I'm using WebSVN using direct repository access "file://server/repo". It's erroring out because IIS 7 isn't running as a user with enough permissions to read the repo.
How can I run IIS7 or the websvn application as a different user?
Thanks
I had my primary partitions maxed out but I deleted some and now I want to make one of my logical partitions a primary. Can I do this with gparted or other free tools?

I want a caller to be able to phone into asterisk from a mobile phone or a pay phone and then enter a special PIN and allow them to dial another number.
This could allow for significant savings on long distance calls.
Is there a build in module or functionality for doing this?
Thanks
Right now my company is using a network share to communicate with the SVN repository. It's really slow so I'd like to switch to SVNSERVE.
The main reason my company chose to go the filesystem route was because it made it easy to secure using our existing active directory authentication system.
From what I've read it is possible to use SvnServe with active directory as long as you use the Sasl library. I was just wondering if anybody else out there is doing this and could give some pointers on configuration since it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere.
Thanks

We have svn on a fast server but it is unfortunately used for other corporate file shares and services.
I'm being told that HTTP protocol won't be faster than file:// with SMB. Does anybody have any documentation of this. I figured a true client server model would perform better. We have about 13 developers and a build server committing and updating from it all day.
Whats the best / easiest way to prevent full screen apps in linux from spanning all monitors. In windows a full screen app will only take over 1 monitor.

Are there any bootloaders designed for usb drives that make it easy to boot multiple distributions and utilities.
I've installed sysrescuecd, supergrub, ultimate boot cd and other various linux distros on my usb drive. The lame thing is all their installation instructions make it the only thing that boots from your drive, and usb drives can store alot more than one utility.
So I was wondering if anybody has made and easy application to setup a multiboot environment on a usb drive.
Thanks
Is there any linux software to monitor an incoming ssh session. At a previous job I was told that if you ever needed support from Red Hat for example you could have them SSH into your machine and you could watch what they were doing.
I'm in a similar situation where I want to ssh into my friends machine to help him out but I want him to be able to watch what I'm doing for educational purposes and to ensure I don't do anything malicious.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I've heard of applications on Mac that can be used to launch certain programs depending on the Network location. I'm looking for an application that can accomplish this on Windows or Linux.
One use case is I want to launch synergy with the correct configuration automatically depending on where I am. And possibly launch certain applications when I get to work or something.
Thanks
