I have a server with smartmontools and I wish it sent med a notification/warning email whenever a disk fails.

For this i need to setup a email server on the machine. However this will be the only service that sends emails, is there something that is even simpler that will allow the server to send a notification? maybe some alternative to email?

Would be great it the for example were a free sms service, and instead of email i could have the daemon send me an sms.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I was wondering if it was possible to invalidate cached object by url.

Say i have the url /api/0.1/user and the url /api/0.1/userFriends what i´d like to know, is if there is a way to make /api/0.1/user invalidated when a PUT request to /api/0.1/userMedia is made. However it should only invalidate cache by the http header Authorization. so basically only invalidate cache for the user which performed the PUT request.

I reckon i need a ban configuration to make this work, but im fairly new to varnish, so an example would be greatly appreciated!

How can i configure a shared config block for a set of locations?

Now if i try to access /api/0.1/user then i will get 404 because it doesn´t pass the request to 127.0.0.1:9000

I have the following architecture on the web layer.

Varnish <-> Apache2 (mod_pagespeed <-> mod_jk) <-> Tomcat

Where varnish and mod_pagespeed is installed with default config.

Now when i access the url http://example.org:8080 then i can see in the source code that mod_pagespeed was invoked and has rewritten the page (on the second refresh mind you as it wasn't cached the first time)

However when i access the url http://example.org:80 mod_pagespeed is not invoked and the html code is rendered unchanged.

Does anyone have any clues as of why this is happening? is it a bug in mod_pagespeed? is it caused by a config setting which is or isn't set in varnish or mod_pagespeed?

Any help to further drill down this issue is greatly appreciated.

I have these two sites defined in my apache2 server.

Redmine server

My problem is that the redmine site seems to be mapped to the root of the apache server / instead of /redmine how can i fix this?
