I installed a new system (Fedora 13) on a new disk.

I have the data of my old system (Fedora 11) on other disk.

I've mount all old partitions to reconfigure the new system like was the old. I have access to my old /home, /etc, /usr...

I would like to know what was in the crontab of my old user. I look in my old /etc/cron* and didn't find what I was looking for.

Where are stored the crontab commands for a particular user ?

I modified /etc/fstab.

I verified the new devices and I can mount them with the mount command.

How may I validate the modifications made to /etc/fstab ?

Some directories are easy to understand the meaning

/usr
/bin
...

But for the next ones, I have no idea.

/etc
/opt

opt for optional?
etc for electronic t...... configuration (no idea for t)

I would like to know what these abbreviations mean.

Since 2-3 weeks, each time I update my fedora 11 box with yum, I get these messages.

Error unpacking rpm package kde-filesystem-4-33.fc11.noarch

Everything else works fine.

I tried to reinstall it. The re-installation was fine but I still get the messages when I

yum update

I didn't try to remove it with yum because it will remove more than 100 packages dues to dependencies.

What else could I do ?

I use Yum on Fedora 11 to update my computer.

On my box, I have

But according to this page, my version is not supported.

I guess that I could un-install and re-install it with yum

yum remove php
yum install php

There is another way to ugrade my php ?

I use yum to update my Fedora. After a huge update, I got many .rpmnew and .rpmsave files. I could understand if I had modified these files. But I'm sure that I didn't edit these files.

What should I do with these files? What will happen at the next update?

Here's a sample of these files:

/usr/share/texmf-var/fonts/map/dvipdfm/updmap/dvipdfm_dl14.map.rpmnew
/usr/share/texmf-var/fonts/map/dvipdfm/updmap/dvipdfm_dl14.map.rpmsave
