Is there any way to add a firewall rule that essentially says, "deny if remoteip= and localport DOES NOT EQUAL ?

I have a network interface connected to a shared network and on that network I only want one TCP port available. But the server is connected to multiple private networks so the private network firewall profile is insufficient here.

I have a web server (IIS) running perl. Is there any way to offload the perl processing to an external server? For example, I have server_a with various sites that may include perl CGI scripts. I want to have server_b such that when requests for a perl script are issued to server_a, the processing is offloaded to server_b.

Adobe ColdFusion server has such capabilities with their Web Connector. Anyone know of such a thing for perl?

Could someone explain something to me? If I run the command (get-acl .\test.txt) | Select-Object owner, I get

BUILTIN\Administrators

which is what I was expecting. However, if I run the command (get-acl .\test.txt) | Select-Object Access, I get this:

Access
-----
{System.Security.AccessControl.FileSystemAccessRule,System.Security.AccessControl.FileSystemAccessRule, System.Security.AccessControl.FileSystemAccessRule}

instead of the list of the users/groups who have permissions on that file and what those permissions are. So what am I doing wrong?

I have an IIS server running a stand-alone install of ColdFusion9 with many customer sites. For high availability, I am trying to connect my web server to an external clustered multi-instance ColdFusion server.

In testing, I found that I had to copy the .cfm files from my web server to the instance directories of the external server. This is going to be impossible to implement on my production sites. Is there any way to utilize an external CF server with the .cfm files residing on the web server?

I have a Postfix server that I am using as an outbound SMTP gateway for a mail server. The postfix server has a name such as smtp.domain1.com.

Now, I have users on my mail server that are trying to send messages to poorly formatted addresses, such as to user@domin. My postfix server is rewriting the address as [email protected].

How can I configure postfix to not rewrite the address and bounce the message if the address is not complete? I believe this can be done with the append_at_myorigin paramter, but the Postifx documentation says that this feature must not be turned off.

I am having a problem with portions of powershell scripts not executing when the script runs from a scheduled task. When manually executed, it operates just fine.

For example, I have the following in a script:

add-content c:\some_folder\output.txt "howdy"
c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe

When I manually run the script, both commands execute. When the scheudled task runs, the first command executes, but the second does not. This is an over-simplified example, but I have more complex scripts where I get similar behavior...the script does what it is supposed to when run manually but parts do not run when run from a scheduled task.

The scheduled task is set to run as local administrator with the "Run with highest privileges" option selected.

Any ideas?

I am trying to remove specific lines from a text file. The text file is just a list and I want to remove specific entries if they are present. So what I have is this:

$f=${path_to_file}
for($i = 0; $i -le $f.length; $i++)
{
    if ($f[$i] -eq "text_to_be_deleted")
    {
        $f[$i]=$null
    }
}
${path_to_file}=$f

The problem is that this is stripping out all the carriage returns from the text file. I tried the following:

(type path_to_file) -notmatch "text_to_be_deleted" | out-file path_to_file

The problem with that command is that I may have a string such as "abc", "abcd", or "abcde". If I have "abc" in the quotes", it deletes any line containing "abc", not just an exact match. I really suck at regular expressions so I couldn't figure out how to specify an exactly this string.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

I need to be able to specify what interface Postfix will use to deliver outbound mail on. What I am doing is setting up an SMTP gateway to deliver mail from different, unrelated groups. I plan to setup a separate instance of Postfix for each group to receive mail, and each instance will need to deliver on its own virtual interface.

The reason I need them separate is so that if one of the groups misbehaves and gets the server blacklisted, I don't want any of the other groups affected. But I don't want to have to setup entirely separate servers or VMs if possible.

I have a Bind DNS caching-only server setup that is working. I am bringing up a new AD domain controller that will also be a DNS server for that AD but I don't want it responding to any DNS queries except those that are AD related. So, my goal is to leave this caching server as the primary DNS server for stations on the network and have it forward requests for the AD domain to the domain controller. My understanding is that I just need a forward zone for that domain pointing to the domain controller. However it does not seem to be working. So that leaves me to think that my caching server is not forwarding properly.

For example, this AD is going to have a naming convention of hostname.mydomain.local. If I do an nslookup and specify the domain controller's IP address as the server, I can query addresses that exist in DNS on that server, such as dc1.mydomain.local. However, queries to my caching server times out (I get a response from the caching server if I query mydomain.local but none of the objects in that domain).

Any suggestions? Here is my named.conf file:
