When assigning system roles to users, I only see "System Administrator" and "System User". I need to add a user with "Content Manager" as a role but do not see this option. SQL Reporting Services 2016 on Windows Server 2016.
Shawn Gradwell's questions
I have a client that needs to sync certain object AD info from their secure domain to our domain.
Something like the Windows Azure Directory Sync Tool, but just not for Azure.
I would like to use some Microsoft tool and not a 3rd party tool, and I would also not want to buy a tool for this.
I know FIM can sync AD data but that is not an option at the moment.
Any ideas?
I have a new client with 3 sites and I want to join/combine/trust ADs. The setup is as follows:
Site 1: No AD.
Site 2: Hosted VMs on a dedicated local domain (for the 3 servers in the VLAN only).
Site 3: Different local domain (than site 2).
The requirement is to join all sites logically and manage AD centrally with regards to GPOs etc.
What are my options and what is best practice?
I understand all the requirements in terms of firewalling or client OS requirements etc.
What is the best way to configure the following on a Cisco ASA 5540?
I have 2 WAN lines, I need mail (tcp 25) on the one and all other traffic on the second WAN line.
On the second WAN line I need to prioritize traffic for some external websites.
I am quite lost in the stacks of documents from Cisco and I have not configured this before. Any help thanks.
We want everyone on the Windows Domain to have the same desktop background. This is set up in a Group Policy. This works great in Windows XP but the Windows 7 machines display a black background.
I have re-created the Group Policy, done various tests with different types and sizes of files Enabling and Disabling Active Desktop. I have researched and tried some options and patches from Microsoft as well.
Any idea what I can try or even how to determine the problem?
A client has folder redirection in AD setup on each user's Home Folder set to the Z:\ drive as \server\share\username. A Group Policy redirects the user's Documents to the user's Home Folder with the option 'Grant the user to exclusive rights to Documents' selected.
The share on the server has permissions for the relevant user security group with 'Full Control', but each user's folder only have NTFS permissions only for 'CREATOR OWNER' and 'Domain Admins'.
Why can the different users access other user's folders? I thought the most restrictive permissions applied effectively between the share and the NTFS permissions.
Also, this setup has been like this for years, and this client recently updated all client computers to Windows 7. What is the best way to setup this redirection now? I assume only in Group Policy, also Basic Redirection - to create a folder for each user under the root path?
On Deploy -> Step 1: Install Local Configuration Store I get this error:
Automatic collection of configuration data failed.
All pre-requisites are met.
I have a media server, Windows Server 2008 SP2 running Backup Exec 2010 R2. The SQL and other Windows agents work but I cannot backup the Exchange 2010 server running Windows Server2008 R2. I have the correct license for the Exchange agent - installed on the media server, and I installed Exchange Management tools on the media server.
The 'Microsoft Exchange Database Availability Group' option is greyed out and if I select the server under a new backup job I can expand the 'Microsoft Information Store' option and see the mail database name but showing 0Kb.
When I try to back it up it gives an error displaying: The job failed with the following error: Backup Exec attempted to back up an Exchange database according to the job settings. The database was not found, however. Update the selection list and run the job again.
