I've been able to get IIS 7 with ARR and URL rewrite to work perfectly! Now my problem is, when I go to "http://support.mydomain.com.ph" it goes to my OTRS server perfectly BUT it gives me a browser warning that my browser is too old - when in fact I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

I'm thinking this is because of the URL rewrite or ARR using IIS7's IE classification which in turn gets passed as some sort of header to the OTRS web server.

I don't really know what the problem is but exchange OWA is working properly, main website is working properly, redirect to OTRS is working properly - except the old browser warning.

I've searched off and on for a few days about this but somehow still haven't found what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms so now I'm turning to serverfault.

I have 1 public IP (say 123.123.123.1) but I have the following servers which all use port 80/443:

• Exchange (e-mail via Outlook Anywhere)
• IIS (company website)
• OTRS (company helpdesk)
• Demo website (products)

Now, I'm aware that there is this thing called reverse proxy on Apache. But I wanted to stay "standard" and use IIS. Is there a way to do reverse proxy using IIS (Win2K8R2)? I'm willing to spend a bit of time to study/implement it, but if it's going to take me 2 days to do just that, then I'm sticking with Apache.

I have 200Mbps of streaming video traffic coming into my command center. How do I split the load between routers?

The setup is like this:

fiber ---> router ---> switch ---> workstations

This specific project is for our company's IP CCTV system. We have deployed over 100++ cameras all over a building/campus and we have estimated each camera to take about 2Mbps of bandwidth each. They're all connected to a switch and that's entirely fine.

But coming into our command center, they have to be on a router since it'll get more than 200++ cameras next year (and I don't want to have too many hosts on one subnet). My plan was to have the 1st hundred on a 172.16.9.x block and the 2nd hundred on a 172.16.10.x block (all /24).

The servers I have are currently sized to match (about 5 dual 6-core Xeons) and I'd have about 19 workstations all streaming video from the 5 servers. (Servers pull video from the cameras).

But 200Mbps of constant traffic? I haven't dealt with this much traffic before. How the hell do I even break this up? I need to have one gateway to manage the routes.

I've configured our SBS 2008 to accept VPN connections (because I can't seem to get our Cisco router's VPN working). I know that the VPN connection is going to be as fast as the connection itself so theoretically if I've got 2Mbit UP/512Kbit DOWN on server side (our office) and client side (my house, same ISP), I'll get a "symmetrical" 512Kbit connection.

Browsing shared folders located on the server shouldn't even be a problem if that's the case but lately, Explorer has been freezing for about 4-5 seconds before stuff loads up in the Explorer window (while browsing Shared Folders).

Is there any way I can test for my real connection speed? or maybe there's a setting in SBS 2008 I've missed (I have searched online but couldn't find anything related to this).

My SBS 2008 server's external 1TB backup drive (USB) is 70% filled. I have done the a full backup on day 1 and have elected an "incremental" backup for the default configuration of backing up 2x everyday. I have two questions: (1) Does SBS Backup do a full backup on its own? When? and (2) What happens if my 1TB drive gets full? Do I just put in a fresh 1TB backup drive and mark it as a backup volume and SBS will continue to do incremental backups with the ocassional full backup? or should I do a FULL backup with the new drive and then incrementally as I did on my 1st backup drive?

I'm trying to find out if Non Hot Swap drives can be plugged into Hot Swap slots on a HP DL180 G6 server. I've been searching around but haven't found the answer I am looking for. I also can't find the manual for the server before we buy one.

Reason for this is because HP drives cost like they have gold in them. I can get 2TB WD black's for like $150 locally. The question is, will 2TB WD black's work?

Yes we are saving money and no this will not host mission critical data. It will only store videos.

I am sure this has been done but after about 2 days of wasted time researching, I'm just not getting what I need.

What's happening is that we are using Google Apps for our email (MX servers are pointed to GApps) and then I am downloading each user's mailbox ([email protected] as hosted on GApps) through POP3 connector on SBS 2008 Exchange. I can send email to other domains just fine through our ISP's smart host.

My problem is this: I have setup a user account on SBS for User1 ([email protected]) and therefore she has a local mailbox on Exchange. I don't have a user account for Mr. President ([email protected]) as he wants to continue using IMAP of GApps for his Mac. User1 cannot send any emails to President. But User1 can send emails to any other user with an account on SBS 2008.

I have tried setting the Hub Transport Accepted domain for domain.net to "Internal Relay" while domain.local is set to "Authoritative" and as the default accepted domain.

Exchange gives me this error: The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please check the e-mail address and try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator.

550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found

Any ideas as to what this problem is? I would prefer that even mail sent to [email protected] be sent through the smart host and then get received by GApps and then get pulled through POP3 for Exchange...

I understand that what I want possibly negates Exchange's purpose and increases bandwidth requirements, but my business case for this is IF exchange were to fail, we will have ALL our inbox intact on Google Apps. And of course, if there were a virus sent from one of our workstations, it would be better if it passes through Google Apps first before it gets to Exchange (whereas in the default configuration, it just sends it directly to the Exchange mailbox and never goes through the internet).

I have a Win2k3 domain right now and I would like to upgrade it into a SBS 2008 Domain. This is simply on a VM and not a real world thing. I would like to know what happens. I don't really have the hardware that's big enough to hold 2 server OS (especially a resource hog SBS 2008) and Windows XP client VM's to test the whole thing. I'm just running on my Mac.

I'd like to know what happens if I do a "bait and switch". WIll the client be "migrated" to the new server but without computer and user accounts, thus causing it not to be able to log-in? Will I lose data on the client machine due to this?

I've been looking for info on this but haven't found much. Maybe I'm just using the wrong search query...

Like the title says, how can I remove FCS and MOM and not have the clients wait for updates from the server and go on its own to get updates from Windows Update automatically? Reason for this is we don't really need the FCS and MOM server and they're just taking up a lot of resources on our VM box.

All the information I've seen online are about how to get unmanaged clients to be managed by FCS and MOM. I'm trying to do the opposite here. I have a lab I can test this with so no problem with getting it wrong the first time but I'd rather save time, really.

I understand that this may be counter productive, but all this automation makes me lazy and not check any of the workstations for some light maintenance because I know something's behind me to take care of it for me.

As the title suggests, how can I migrate roaming profiles located in one drive (starting to fill up already) to another?

Current share is like this "SVR1\Shares\UserProfiles\%username%\ But of course, this is located in C:/Shares/UserProfiles/%username%/

What do I need to do? Do I simply copy/paste into the bigger(RAID1) drive and then repoint all the profile paths (using AD Users&Computers profile properties)?

What if I can point this to a different file server all together?

What happens when one server in a DFSR pool maxes out its disk space?

I am at the very beginning of my research in DFS/R and this struck me. I plan on implementing this on one server with RAID1 (160GB) and on another server with a RAID5 (500GB). What happens when my 1st server with 160GB disks, run out of space? Will it spill over to the 500GB server?

Is it advisable at all to even have the RAID1 server in the DFSR pool? Because the RAID1 server is also my Domain Controller.

Hope you guys can help me out here (OS are Win2k3R2)

Ive always wondered, what can we do if a virus or worm happens to affect the main file server?

What if from the file server the clients get infected by said worm/virus?

How would you clean it up? Where would you even start in a compromised environment that has anti-virus in place?
