I got the following issues while querying a database, and somehow I am not yet able to resolve it.

1. The SELECT permission was denied on the object

So I executed the following command on SSMS ( I am the sa )

2. GRANT SELECT ON [PQR].[dbo].[XYZ] to ABC

I get the following error

Cannot find the user 'ABC', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.

Can anyone please help?? I The user ABC does exist, I can see it under the database->security->users

I want to virtualize a physical machine and I used Disk2Vhd to convert the Hard drive to a .vhd file.

My issue is that when I attach this vhd in Hyper-V, and try to install

"Integration Services", I get the message "HAL Upgrade Required",

and after sometime,

"You must restart your system before Hyper-V Integration services can be installed. Do you want to restart now"

The problem is that these steps get repeated again and again and I am never able to install the Integration services.

Addition Info:

Server: Windows 2008 R2
Guest Machine: Windows 2003 Server with SP2

Any suggestions??

I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 for the 180 day trial. We tested the system and it's working fine, and I wanted to convert it to full version.

The problem is, I have a volume key licence to SQL Server, and the Microsoft support says that there is no key for SQL Server Standard editions (SQL Server (2008 or 2008 R2 ) ), and says that If I use the disc, the product will install automatically without requiring my keys.

My question is, how to convert the trial to the full version - I don't want to go through the hassle of setting up everything.
