I want to schedule a cronjob like that to run it at the following dates:
So every 2 weeks , on Saturday, at 8 o'clock.
I have installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 64bit on the server with 64g of RAM. But the system detects just 32b of memory, here are the details:

How can I change that limit to 64g? Note: BIOS shows 64g in memory section.

I am restoring Oracle datafile size of 1200GB. Datafile is read from backup piece size of 4000GB(4TB).
Note: As I monitored 4TB is processed totaly to read all blocks of my datafile.
I had several problems during restore:
Situation 1. There was period when after 2 hours restore was failing (Operation column in Netbackup Database Console was empty at that moment)
Situation 2. Drive was mounted before 2 hours and restore process was not failed before 2 hours. But suddenly restore failed after processing 55GB.
I don't have old logs. Now I the following problem:

I have sda disk with 2 partitions. The second partition sda2(which is LVM) is 1.4TB in size and want to shrink to 50GB. I reduced Logical volume to 50GB but when I run vgdisplay it shows Free PE / Size 1.33 TiB. I want this free space to have sda and not sda2 for to create sda3 partition which I want not to be formatted (Who is familiar with Oracle and asm , I will clarify that I want sda3 to mark as an asm disk)
So I want to take 1.33 TiB from sda2 and give it to sda, how? Please, help.
I have Symantec Netbackup 7.0 on windows 2008. I have configured backup jobs. I want it to send me notofications about successful and failed backups.
I can receive notifications about failed backups not about successful ones.
I have done the following steps:
I've indicated in "Master Server"->Porperties->"Global Attributes"->"Administrator email address" <-that'why I can receive notif. about failed jobs
Also I have written mail address in "Master Server"->Porperties->"Universal Settings"->"Client administrator's email" (have checked "Server sends mail" radio button)
Also I have written email address in "Clients"->Porperties->"Universal Settings"->"Client administrator's email"(have checked "Client sends mail" radio button)
What to do? As I said before, I can't get mails about successful jobs.

And want to return my TEST table to its previous state.
I don't want to recover whole database, just this table is needed. It can be done by restoring and recovering database to another host, export table from the new DB and import to the existing DB(DB1).
Let's assume I have just one server... Can I restore and recover database on the same machine with the new database name?

which of course changed file content(I had to run cpio -iv < aaa.cpio)

I want to install Linux with an Oracle database on it and configure Oracle to make weekly backups.
Please, advice me which distribution I should install. Also, how do I confugure my database to make weekly backups automatically?
I think Red Hat would be better and weekly backups can be configured by EM, right?
I want to install Oracle RAC on solaris 10, using ASM but I am new in it...
So I want to mount /u0 directory on the disk volume /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s2
1) I have created /u0 directory by root user like this:
# mkdir /u0
2) I've added the following entries in .vsftab file:
/dev/dsk/c2t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s2 /u0 ufs 2 yes -
For to make file system to mount automatically.
3) Then I have typed the following command, for to mount directory now:
mount /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s2 /u0
Am I right???? Please, give me some advice how to mount directory on solaris and what steps should I make for to install oracle RAC on this system.
P.S. Step 3 gives me the following error:

During recovery Oracle writes the following error:

I have used in mount mode this command:
change archivelog all crosscheck;
delete expired archivelog all;
Then restore and tried to recover again:But still RMAN-06054 error.Than I wrote:

RECOVER DATABASE;
}
It helped me to recover database...But after that when I do the backup and then recover the same error occurs and solution is the same... I wonder to solve this problem without SET UNTIL SEQUENCE 9 THREAD 1;
maybe I should unregister this archive log from control file(I am using control file not catalog) Can you tell me how?
