I have a RHEL7 server that has been running for the past couple weeks, but it won't come back up after a restart now. I have daily snapshots, but all of them seem to be affected by the same problem.

This server is running a Drupal installation with MariaDB and Postfix.

I'm not sure what changes were made that could have done this. There were some file permission changes, but shouldn't have been anything outside of drupal files. I'm really just looking for a place to start.

Also, if there's any sort of generic recovery script that I could run, that would be awesome.

I need some hardware to support additional file server space (Preferably 1TB+), as well as a backup solution that will let me pull drives or tapes periodically to store off-site.

Can I do this easily with a single server/NAS, or should I really be looking at getting a seperate NAS and tape drive?

I'm looking at buying a hot-swap NAS that supports SATA/SATA II hard drives. Can I get any SATA drive and put it into the hot-swap trays it comes with, or will I need to find a certain kind of drive?

Are the use of thin-clients an appropriate substitute for full workstations? Are they meant for small-company IT use, or are they only useful for large implementations. What are the perks and disadvantages for implementing such a solution in the workplace?
