I'm working on Eclipse 3.5 with JBoss Tools, and even though I remember doing it before, I haven't been able to make my JBoss running instance from Eclipse available to other computers on the network.
If I try to change the program arguments:
-b localhost
The program reports:
The Host can only be changed in the Server Editor.
I'm trying to serve my application's content on JBoss through Apache. Load balancing is not necessary yet.
I've been trying to follow this guide on JBoss' wiki but it seems more complicated than what I'm looking to do, since I'm not trying to get loadbalance to work. I also found this other example, but I haven't been able to make this work.
Several trial and error hasn't helped getting too far. Can you recommend any good conceptual tutorials for doing this? These tutorials I've found kind of explain what to do, but don't go too deep into what you are doing. Not only do I want to get this to work, but also learn what I'm doing.
I want to use file transfer via SSH on some scripts. I've read it's possible to tar over ssh. Where should I start reading?
Have you installed / used FreeDOS on a server environment? Can you link them to a Windows 2000 server?

What software would you recommend to monitor a network? We have a main server which acts as a DNS among other services. And we would like to monitor network activity: what protocols are being used, bandwidth, etc.
Kind of a Big Brother thing, to know when a user tries to login to his personal mail account on GMail, Hotmail, etc. or uses an external IM account, things which are not permitted under the company's rules. And if possible, block these access (or being able to know about it, in order to take the correspondent disciplinary actions).
I've read Nagios is a monitoring service, is this the solution we are looking for? What other open source alternatives are there?
I prefer Debian GNU/Linux as operating system for servers. I generally tend to think stable is the best choice. But I use unstable/testing on the desktop.
Are there real cases of servers using Debian unstable/testing?
