I have a public folder that was used for the wrong reason. Due to some regulations we had to store lots of photos, we're talking at least 7000 photos that are stored based on a location of stores. So for example, each store would send in an email with at least 2 photos of their location, that email would contain their location name or number, and those photos, so there was some sort of organization for it.

I would love to move the contents of that public folder to a normal windows folder we could share on a server. Is anything like that possible? Anybody have other ideas?

I support somewhere around 50 users doing both help desk as well as server administration. Just recently a manager was suspicious that their employee was automatically forwarding all of his (manager's) emails to their (employee's) personal email address. There have been two separate events that raised suspicion and they have no asked me to look into it.

As far as legality goes... in our state is is perfectly legal for an employer to look into any kind of information of an employee. By that I mean the laptop is company property, it should only be used for company purposes, and they have been warned.

The employee is very technically minded. He knows what he is doing and also has several friends that are employed as pen testers, hackers, etc. In other words, he has connections that could help him.

Does anyone know if this is even possible? It feels like a secret rule on the employers computer that is sending all emails bcc to the employee.

Any suggestions?

I've noticed the time on all of our computers seems to be off by about 5 minutes. I think most computers are set up to sync time with one of our servers. after running a net time or a w32tm /query /configuration I've found which server they are looking to. I have now gone and set the time on that server to a correct time. Now I am trying to get all the domain computers to resync (something like a w32tm /resync on all computers).

Is this something I have to force? Or will each computer eventually resync by itself? If I wanted to force that, is there a way?

What I'm trying to do here without wasting too much time is we want our company to have all the associate photos as their contact pictures in Outlook. I know Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 have a lot of places now where contact pictures appear, if one is selected. So instead of having all the grey boxes to add a picture, we want to just add photos for everyone.

Here's what I understand -- We are running Exchange 2010, and from what I understand, each time a new user is created, it adds that user to the global contacts list, and then pushes that out to Outlook, correct? Also, with individual contacts added on each machine under the Contacts tab in Outlook, you can add all the user info and add a picture whereas the global contact list pulls straight from Active Directory. But, there is no where to add a picture in active directory for each user. Using google I found this which writes a script that uploads a 10K .jpeg photo to each active directory user, based on user name. Obviously that isn't the easiest way to do it.

Does anyone know of ANY way that would accomplish what I'm trying to do? If AD doesn't support photos, no biggie. I would just like to add these pics.

I was thinking maybe create a contact group of all the associates with the correct info and photos, and then import that to each machine. But I'm sure someone knows a better/easier way.

This weekend we updated our DNS to a different ISP. We made the change Friday night around 6 pm and it updated Saturday night around 6 pm. Emails are coming through when it is slow, but during the peak hours it slows down. Even internal emails are taking 1-2 hours to arrive. I do not know what to look for to see what is causing the problems. There are about 4000 emails in the Queue Viewer on the Exchange Management Console.

Just for your information... we use a fatpipe system to bond three different ISP lines. Traffic is aggregated depending on which line has the best latency.

When we were making the change we removed the DNS forwarders on the exchange server that went to our old line, and added the DNS info for the new line. It seems to me that we would need all 3 DNS information on the exchange server, does that seem right?

Does anyone know what I should try to determine what is causing the queuing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I do basic IT for our company, but have started getting into more server-level stuff. So I really need a dumbed down answer if possible.

We just recently switched ISPs. We are using a FatPipe system that bonds two different WAN sources into one LAN. Right now we have both plugged in and working fine. We have two connections bonded T1's and a local wireless internet company. Right now our A record for mail.company.com is pointed to our wireless ISP IP address. I would like to change it to be pointed to our T1's.

Looking at our domain hosting company, our www.company.com MX record is pointed to mail.company.com. That mail.company.com has an A record that goes to our wireless IP. To use our T1 I would just replace that A record with a different IP address, right?

I want to minimize downtime as much as possible. I have been searching on here for different solutions, but all seem to include using different servers. All we are doing is switching our mail from one IP to another. What is the best way to do this with minimum downtime?
