I was wondering if there was a Group Policy I could create that would show this:
Now, nothing about the "Activate Windows now" messages. I just want to put custom information in the bottom right of their screen (where it says things like "Windows 7" and "Evaluation copy. Build 7100", etc.).
I recently obtained an "array networks spx2000". I don't really plan on using it but before I can actually do anything with it, I need to determine if it works or not. What is the simplest way to determine that it's atleast not bricked? I can turn it on and it says it's running without error, but without actually testing for what it does, is this enough to guerentee that it works? I'm assuming not, that's why I'm asking.
Now, it was slightly used before I got it. I'm not sure as to what extent though. I wasn't given the nine pin cable for it. I was only given the power cord and the server itself really.
My Question
What is the easiest way to test to see if it works at this point?
I'm creating custom error pages for my site. I want one that, if there is a generic error (invalid querystring, improper authentication, etc.) that will be shown. This is easy enough, problem is, what error code would this be? 404 is not found, 403 forbidden.
What code would this best fall under?
Lighty2Go is the portable version of the Lighttpd server. I'm required to use it for a project I am doing.
I need to use SSI (Server Side Includes). I know SSI is old and slow, that is OK for this project. I know Lighty2Go/Lighttpd has support for SSI, however, I can't seem to get it to work.

I've changed some settings in the config to no avail. Any ideas? Does anybody have a step-by-step way to do it for newbies? I'm new to Lighty2Go, I'm only using it so I can test my SSI enabled sites before uploading them to a server.

I've been hosting stuff on my computers for the last couple of months from my home personal computer. What is the difference between this and something such as this:

Does this have a visual? (How do I get on it to run stuff on it?) Can I just start normal .exe's on it? Do I have to do things differently? What are the spec comparisons? What would be better, a $250 server (such as the one above) or a $750 gaming computer?
Are they built differently (for specific things) or what?
