I need to connect to Dyn mail relay and I'm using their KB.

I see that I'm getting the following error in /var/log/messages:

In /var/log/maillog I get:

  SASL login authentication failed: authentication failure

what am I forgetting?

I would like to rsync folders from a specific date and forward. for example. I want to rsync my folders that were created from 3 days ago (and of course 2 days ago, one day ago etc.). I know I need to use find and rsync but I'm not sure how. any idea? Thanks! Dotan.

I have created a LINUX machine with 2 disks. the 2nd disk is 100GB /wdata THIN provisioning. I stopped the VM and changed DISK02 to 200GB instead of a 100GB). when I do /proc/partitions I see /dev/sdb1 = 100GB and /dev/sdb = 200GB. when I run: "df -k I see:

/dev/mapper/storage-lvol0 - 99G 63G 32G 67% /wdata

what do I need to do in order to have a total of 200GB of /wdata partition?

• Server 1 - first Sunday of the month (first week)
• Server 2 - Second Sunday of the month (2nd week)
• Server 3 - third Sunday of the month (3rd week)

Which RPM provides the file resolv.conf in Centos 6?

I believe the default OS file system in CentOS 5 is ext3.

Is it possible to use ext4 on Centos 5.x, or only on 6.x? Can I upgrade an existing ext3 filesystem to ext4?

I installed CentOS that I use as a webserver (Apache) and I also have the sendmail running on it.

I didn't change any configuration in my sendmail. It's currently set to the default settings.

I can send emails using my sendmail.

How is this possible? Is relaying in the default settings for sendmail? I'm missing something here.

I have a script that finds a string in a file replaces it with a new string.

$ sed -i 's/$old_string'/'$new_string'/g' $FILENAME

Now I need the condition to be a regular expression that also check whether the old string is followed with anything but a number.

I tried this but it didn't work:

$ sed -i -r 's/$old_string(^[0-9])+/$new_string/g' $FILENAME

Im trying to change a machine ip address vi CMD with this code:

netsh int ip set address name="Local Area Connection" source=static addr=???.???.???.??? mask=255.255.255.0

The problem that the IP doesn't changed (checked by ipconfig) but doesn't not changed on the DHCP. Thus when i restart the machine, the IP is returned to DHCP. I need a pay to change the ip permanently via CMD.

Any ideas?

monit: Cannot connect to the monit daemon. Did you start it with http support?

it only works when I stop the monit service.

I would like to backup user files from one server to another with rsync. but I noticed that the user folders change to root. how can I keep the user permissions with rsync (running by root)?

I would like to run the following: (Centos 5.4)

rsync -avz /source_folder 192.168.1.1:/destination_folder

right now I'm running it from CLI but eventually I would like to run it from crontab (user:root).

when I run it, it always asks me to enter root password. I want to skip the password. I've seen a few of the answers regarding this but it either doesn't work or I'm not sure I understand completely how to do it. can someone assist?

I have a 1TB folder with many files on Centos server I need to make sure another Centos server has the same folder and files for backup. right now the backup server has no files. once I copy all the folders I guess I can use "rsync" but for the first copy I think I'll need something else I have 2 NIC on both servers in cross cable which I would like to use for the backup. any good idea? thanks
