I would like to be notified about each SSH connection to the Linux (Debian) server.
Already saw some methods, which proposed to add mail command into own .bashrc, but this approach seems not to cover all possible cases.
What is the best practice to make such transversal notifications about SSH connections ?
One of our Linux servers (Debian 5) uses Windows shares mounted via cifs.
Each time, when the credentials are changing due to security policy, shares begins to be inaccessible for several hours, or until the Linux machine goes to be completely restarted.
Is there a way to flush the network passwords cache, to avoid this ? Samba restart (/etc/init.d/samba restart) doesn't do anything, the system still uses outdated credentials.
Any help will be appreciated.
Is it possible to mount external ext3 network drive from Windows through ssh/sftp ?

I'm trying to configure Service service on Windows 7, to add more ressources to it.
In our infrastructure there is a Linux server, which has mounted partitions from a Windows 7 machine. Partitions are mounted through cifs filesystem.
When there is a complex request for multiple files in one time, Windows macine doesn't serve all files.
Also sometimes in such situations, Server service is falling down, and we must restart it.
If there is a way to configure Server service on Windows, to give it more RAM, priority etc ?
