I am really struggling to create the query that will export the following: Account FirstName LastName the OU that the user resides in
Ideally I would like it as a CSV. I do not have access to the domain controller, but can run DSQUERY/DSGET/etc. from my pc.
We are experiencing a frustrating issue with our Public Calendars in Outlook 2010. Meetings that have been scheduled months in advance are missing, but will then reappear.
If user A logs in @ 9:30 and goes to the calendar, certain meetings will be missing. 15 Minutes later, when user B logs in, the meetings are there. It is not tied to the actual user- I have seen this issue occur with the order of logging in reversed.
These are with meetings that were posted to the calender months ago, so it should not be an issue of an item being updated. We have not upgraded our Exchange environment (still running on 2003), but this is a new machine, running Windows 7 Professional, on a domain, running office 2010.
Are there any quirks or settings that I am missing or not aware of?
We are getting an error at power on that indicates a fan failure. As this printer is no longer under warranty it is falling on me to open it up and look around. I have searched HP's website and haven't had any luck.

I am having an issue on my workstation, where periodically the NET VIEW command does not seem to work.
Most times, NET VIEW will return a list of all the machines connected to our domain. Occasionally, it will only list 4 or 5 (instead of the usual 200+). The only way I've found to remedy it is by rebooting my machine.
I am running Windows XP Pro, the Domain Controller is running Server 2003.
What could be causing this, and how can I remedy it? Thanks!
I need to find a way to determine what version, if any, of Microsoft Office is installed on every computer on our company network. The best idea I've had was just running a script that searches for the install directory on all machines that are currently connected to the network. I don't think this method is accurate enough and there is probably a better way.
Any ideas?
I am currently an IT employee who works primarily with hardware/software desktop support, as well as various projects.
I feel like I need to learn more about server/network administration and my current role does not really offer that. I want/need to gain experience w/ active directory, group policy, etc.
I am comfortable working/troubleshooting windows desktops and basic network issues/configurations. I just need to further my experience and knowledge.
I could set up a physical home network, however I think to get started I would like to try it using a virtual machine. Is this feasible and worthwhile? Does anyone have any tips or good book recommendations? Also- should I focus on ms server 2008 or 2003?

We are currently setting up a conference/meeting/voting system. There is a PC (Call it CompA) whose secondary display is the public display which shows information,voting results, etc.
There is another PC (call it CompB) which a clerk sits at. I would like to be able to display CompA's secondary display as a window on CompB. A point of note is that CompB does have an S-Video input.
The main concerns are data transfer speed and hands free use.
I'd like to avoid a VNC/RDP solution - this would cause CompA to have to send quite a bit of data and this display is updating constantly.
I'd also like the window to display immediately at log-in- no need for the clerk to do anything (although a double-click or two wouldn't be the end of the world).
I realize I'm asking for a pretty ridiculous thing, but I figured someone here may have experience or some imaginative ideas.
