We have a nagios server and I would add snmp requests for our Linksys/Cisco RVS4000s. They are connected via ipsec tunnels. Problem is that the RVS4000's do not seem to support SNMP over the WAN interface, only the LAN. Even going through a vpn tunnel.
Is there any can of small agent I can install on a server on the remote LAN to proxy requests from the nagios server to the router? That way the requests come from the LAN
My x64 windows 2003 box is not resolving names in the hosts file in system32\drivers\etc. I have been testing with nslookup with no luck.
There was not a syswow64\drivers\etc\hosts so I created one and entered the same hosts also with no luck. Should I reboot to get this one to work?
I've done the ipconfig /flushdns and /registerdns a few times with no luck.
I am trying to connect to a Load Balanced Windows 2008 R2 cluster using Remote Desktop Services. I have no trouble connecting to the the Servers' IP addresses (.253.16 and .253.17) or the Cluster address (.253.20) from inside the subnet (.253).
The trouble is when I try to connect from the other subnet(.251). I can remote to the other non-clustered servers (.253.12 and .253.15) inside the .253 subnet from the .251 without an issue. I receive a ping reply from the cluster and other servers when I am on the .251 subnet. But when I try to connect via remote desktop it times out but only to any of the IPs on the cluster (.20,.17,.16).
My ASA 5510 handling the routing reports message in the log: Deny TCP (no connection) from 192.168.251.2/4283 to 192.168.253.16/3389 flag FIN PSH ACK
Update: It does appear that If I have one host down it works.
I have a ASA 5510 that has about 60-70 vpn tunnels. I have four interfaces on the device: 1)External, 2)192.168.1.0, 3)192.168.2.0, 4) 192.168.3.0
A VPN tunnel is configured from the remote site (192.168.200.0) to the 192.168.2.0 subnet on the ASA.
I have remote applications I would like the users at the remote site to be able to access which are hosted on the 192.168.3.0 subnet.
I can route traffic between the subnets that are located on the ASA. Any way I can route traffic from the remote site to the 192.168.3.0?
Yahoo limits the number of messages that can be sent per SMTP connection to 5. (see. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/basics/postmaster-38.html;_ylt=AmQ249AWdyWDPc9ZukN6VGkIJHdG)
We typically have users with large email distribution lists and easily exceed 5 yahoo addresses. Does anyone know how to have Lotus Domino increase the number of connections?
Right now when users send a message with more than 5 the connection get's killed then hangs and tries again later but the process seems to really slow down mail delivery.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In my domain I have the Desktop and My Documents redirected to the file server. I found out that when someone deletes a file from the Desktop it doesn't go to the recycle bin. If you delete a file from My documents it does go to the recycle bin.
They are both redirected using Group policy. Permissions look the same on both folders. My only thought is that because the My documents is redirected to the home folder Windows is acting like it's a local folder and not a network folder.

I have windows domain that needs a password policy. Right now there isn't one. Anyone have feedback on a good balance between weak passwords and users having passwords so strong they just write them down?
Since no one has a expiring password I thought I could phase in users by removing the "Password never expires" property from their user account. That way the I (and the help desk) don't get so slammed with questions/password resets. Any feedback?
