Have a virtual server with old Suse. About a month ago cron started spamming me with emails like this:

Subject: test -x /etc/init.d/sendmail && /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail cron-msp
Body:/usr/share/sendmail/sendmail: 899: /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail-msp: not found

I use postfix (sendmail was deleted long time ago) and can't see how to turn off this spamming email. And yes, no one change anything on the server (neither install updates, nor reconfigure it). At one day this email spam just started. And I can't find any cron tasks that send this emails.

I've a legacy dedicated server with Ubuntu onboard (console mode only). Based on docs (prices etc.) I see that server must have 250+ GB, but I see significantly less:

So my question, how can I find free partions/unallocated spaces?

I've and Oracle (11 Enterprise) schema with a table

Oracle profiler (tkprof) shows that about 50% of overall time the lib execute such statement:

Could anybody explain/hint me what's going on? Why the update is so slow?

The table WSP_BUNDLE contains about 200+k rows. At the same time I've other tables in the same schema with blobs (CLOB to be more concrete) that contains 600+k rows where similar updates work correctly.

We are using svn (1.6.3)+sasl integration. After installationon on Suse 10.x (64 bits) I found that svnserve hanged sessions ("ps ax" shows more and more hanged svnserve processes). Xinetd logs contains a lot of lines like this

EXIT: svn signal=11 duration=1(sec)

Svn "make check" shows that all stages passed as "success".

Does anybody try to resolve similar issue? Any help will be appreciated.

I have long running process at Debian. At some point in throw an error:

Too many open files.

Running:

ulimit -a

shows:

open files (-n) 1024

I wish to increase number of open files in 2 times. After execution

ulimit -n 2048

the limit is active until end of my session, which is not applicable for the task.

How can I permanently increase number of open files?
