We are about to upgrade our Domain Controller from Server2008 to Server2012. We have User CALs that we currently use for our Server2008 DC. When we upgrade to Server 2012 can we continue to use those 2008 CALs?

I've found contradictory answers so far, some say yes some say no. The official Microsoft site seems to say yes - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14988.rds-and-ts-cal-interoperability-matrix.aspx

Do I need to purchase those extra licenses?

I'm creating a connection file for VPN using microsoft CMAK. The VPN connection works but when I try to map drives it maps the drive under the Administrator account on the local machine because the VPN setup EXE needs elevated administrator account to install.

I'm adding this batch file to the CMAK setup under 'Add Custom Action -> Post Connect'.

net use J: \\Server\Share1$ /persistent:no
net use K: \\Server\Share2$ /persistent:no

I've also tried 'Runas' for local %USERNAME% but that required me to enter local passwords and administrator server passwords to map the drives, this will be too much for our users to do and I would like this installation to be as silent as possible.

We are running a small network with address range 192.168.0.0/24. So we only have 254 IPs available. We want to increase this range slightly, to allow more hosts in the network. So if I change the network to 192.168.0.0/23, that should give us 256 more IP addresses right? From 192.168.0.1-192.168.1.254?

As a test I gave one of our machines on the network a static IP address 192.168.1.25/23. But this machine can't seem to connect to our default gateway, 192.168.0.1 -- the ping times out.

We have a box that serves as our DHCP, DNS, Gateway and firewall all in one, and its IP is 192.168.0.1, and on that I set the subnet mask to 255.255.254.0 (/23).

Anything I put in 192.168.1.x can't seem to get to the 192.168.0.1 gateway. Not sure what's going on. Is there something else I need to change?
