In the Netscaler load balancing persistence rules it is straightforward to sticky a client IP to the same member each time.
What I would like to do is sticky a client IP to a specific member server, rather than the one it happened to get first time.
This is for testing purposes, so we can push a client toward each of the specific members in the service group.
This is on 10.5.

This works well for most users, however one user has an alias in /etc/aliases which is processed by a system_aliases router before the autoreply.
If the email is sent to the alias, then the autoreply doesn't trigger. I cannot figure out why, as the router above doesn't seem to care whether the local_part matches a system username.
Any ideas? (By the way, I realise I am doubling up some of the elements there as I have tried different approaches).
I am watching my email gateway blackhole spam messages using spamassassin - anything over a specific score.
Right now, it is dropping around 3 per second. This is great, but I would prefer the spam wasn't using up so much of the incoming capacity.
I am wondering if I can create a dynamic rule that will track the mount of blackholed emails coming from a specific IP address and throttle them if it exceeds a value, for a period of time.
I could do this with iptables, but would prefer to issue an SMTP 4xx code so they retry later - this is because gmail.com seems to be the source of some of this spam, and I want to accept email from gmail in general.
So before I go scripting something to do all this for me, is there a straightforward way?
We have a Cisco IOS router with two DSL connections. One of them is intended for general traffic (ADSL), the other for VPN links (BDSL) and various other traffic.
So the default route is the ADSL link, and we have a combination of static routes for the VPN traffic, and policy routes for other traffic types that should go out the BDSL link.
For site to site traffic, this is fine, we just static route the public IPs and remote networks out of the BDSL line.
The policy based routing works fine for any internal traffic that matches an ACL.
The problem is now that there are remote VPN sites originating from dynamic addresses, so we cannot use static routes. The replies to incoming ISAKMP requests are following the default route out of the ADSL (despite there being no crypto map on that interface).
I want to route the outgoing VPN traffic out of the BDSL. I have tried adding udp/500 and esp to and from the route-map acl that pushes traffic out of the BDSL line, but it doesn't match, presumably because the route-map happen earlier than the IPSec stuff.
Any ideas how I can do this?

Is it possible, or feasible, or even sensible to consider hardware acceleration for MD RAID?
I am referring more here to RAID6 type levels where there is a computation overhead. My thinking is that it is still disks that will provide the greater bottleneck, but I am surmising.
As has been pointed out in the answers, this should simply mean getting a hardware RAID card. The advantage of MD over hardware is to avoid the need for hardware of course - it is software RAID. However, another advantage of MD is avoiding vendor lock-in. My understanding is that you cannot move disk sets between different hardware RAID vendor products and have any hope they will work without starting over. Whereas with MD you can move disks between machines without issue.
Having hardware that can boost the performance of MD RAID without having to resort to a wipe, rebuild and restore would be beneficial in some cases.
I am using rsnapshot on a Debian Wheezy server. This was recently upgraded from squeeze. Since the upgrade, I am getting the following error from the hourly cron job:

Two LVM volumes are correctly backed up and Logical volume "rsnapshot" successfully removed, but then it gets to volume dl in lvm VG raid5 and see the unable to deactivate raid5-dl-real.
The name of my lvm snapshot is called raid5/rsnapshot. raid5-dl-real does not correspond to a volume name - the real device is /dev/mapper/raid5-dl.
So if this is the dl volume itself, why would lvm be trying to deactivate it?
Note that this was happening to an entirely different volume originally, so I removed it from the backup. Now it has shifted to this one.
The rsnapshot log isn't very enlightening either:

Update - this has just started happening on an entirely different server. Same LVM issue.
One thing I have tried is to redirect the lvremove command to a script:

I am trying to solve a problem with a Cisco WLC (virtual) running 7.4.
This has a single AP joined, a 1602E, running the 7.4 LWAPP image.
There is an AP group configured, which this AP is a member of, and there is a basic WPA2-PSK WLAN defined, broadcast out of this AP group, and this is bound to the management interface, so no VLANs. A
While the AP is successfully configured for things like SSH access, or login credentials (so config updating works), and can successfully detect other APs for rogue detection (so the radios are working), the SSID configuration is not written to the device.
Below is the excerpt of the AP configuration. Note that the only reason for the AP group was to simplify the setup for the AP. The default-group has three WLANs defined with EAP auth, so another AP group was created with a single AP and single basic WLAN.
Any ideas how I can troubleshoot why the configuration is not getting setup?

I have a reverse proxy setup using apache mod_proxy:

This works fine most of the time. The problem is when the internal server does a redirect. While the proxypassreverse should catch the location, and it seems to, it redirects to http://reverse.server.com rather than to https://reverse.server.com. So it is half working, the address changes correctly, but the protocol stays as the internal server.
I am not clear on why it is doing this, as the proxied connection is SSL - any ideas?
I have an nfs4 server, with fsid=0 exported with
no_subtree_check,no_all_squash,no_root_squash
I have various clients working fine with this, a mixture of debian and arch, mounting with nfs4 and uids and gids, userids and groups, are reported correctly with files.
However, one gentoo box does map the ids correctly. The userids are present on both sides, even the uids are the same, and the Domain is correctly set in /etc/idmapd.conf and is running.
All files are presented with the 4294967294:4294967294 user/group, despite having userids and uids, groups and gids that match the client.
If I run idmapd in the foreground, with extra verbosity, I see that it is getting the domain right:

I have a Centos 5 box with a sub interface:

The netmasks need to be 32bit in the environment this server is in. So in order to specify the default route, we let the server know where the gateway is, and then default route to it:

The eth0 IP address is the one used for the fqdn in /etc/hosts. If I ping the fqdn, I get the eth0 IP address.
Could some let me know how I can force outgoing packets to use the IP bound to eth0 rather than the IP bound to eth0:1 as the source IP.
When using --timeout with wget, I was expecting that if the transaction hasn't completed within the timeout period, then it would abort.
However, it seems to mean (with respect to read-timeout) that no data should have transferred in 30 seconds for the timeout to trigger (or dns or connecting takes longer than 30 seconds).
Is there a one-liner way to abort a wget if it takes too long?
update: This is on a Centos 5.6 box running coreutils 5.97
We have a Xen server where the dom0 acts as both vm host and storage host. Nothing special about the server, the storage is an internal RAID array. No failover partner or anything.
Each of the domUs have their own lvm volumes for local storage, and then share partitions like /home over NFSv4
Given that the storage is all physically local to the machine, it would seem inefficient to push this over NFS, just to enabled shared access to a volume.
Can anyone recommend or suggest an alternative way of sharing a volume that is local to the host and VMs (effectively)?
Edit: and if NFSv4 is the best approach, again given the VMs are co-located and the virtual nature of the network connectivity between dom0 and domU, is there a well-known ideal set of mount options to maximise performance (in a general usage scenario with a variety of transaction types) or is it still a case of wheeling out bonnie and running tests?
I have a new Samba install, but it is using a config file from a previous installation of samba. This one is 3.5.6
The following is an excerpt from the config:

So it is a pdc, has domain name "HUM". When a user logs into the domain, their profile (created locally) has the name c:\users\[username].ZEN
"zen" is the hostname. I can happily log into the domain, and I can add machines without problems. In all cases, I refer to the domain as "HUM".
If I log into a W7 workstation as an administrator, and add a user to the administrators group, it correctly lists the user as "username" in domain "HUM".
If I then log in as that domain user (again logging into the HUM domain), I do appear to have administrator rights - I can for example run cmd as administrator.
However, weird things happen. The account cannot run control panel for example - access denied (windows cannot access the file or device). If I go to netplwiz I can see that the user in the administrators group that was previously "userid" in domain "HUM" is now "userid" in domain "ZEN".
zen is the hostname of the samba controller.
This happens on both workstations I have tried. I am wondering if the workstations previously logged into the HUM domain on a different server (it was rebuilt) and are getting messed up now they join to the same domain on the new server.
Any troubleshooting tips welcome...

This is a new server build running opensuse 11.4, kernel 2.6.37.6-0.5-xen on an i2500 with 8GB RAM.
I have tried a couple of different kernels (through happening to have an update via zypper), I have tried both sticks of RAM (4GB) individually and swapped their position. The motherboard DQ67OW has integrated graphics, and I have tried discrete in case the integrated was consuming memory the kernel was unaware of. The error can occur with any of the CPU cores.
It doesn't seem to be triggered by any specific activity - I am running mdadm raid5, and often the 'block' process is the one triggering the oops, however bash and udevd have triggered it also.
It seems that if the oops happens to a critical enough process, the entire server hangs with the flashing caps lock and scroll lock lights.
The processor, motherboard and RAM are all new. I am expecting this to be triggered by a hardware fault, or perhaps a driver bug. Perhaps the nic driver...?
Any suggestions as to how I can narrow down the culprit would be great.

Can anyone explain this:

This is a debian squeeze install. I am expecting the extglob will interpret the brackets as the beginning of a group.
