A few weeks ago I had my Dreamhost account deactivated because I forgot to change my credit card information when I switched cards. I had a perfectly operational Redmine installation that went down for about a day.

After reinstating my account, everything works fine except that when I try to create a new issue on this Redmine installation I get:

"Application error Rails application failed to start properly"

I've tried everything on this list, but nothing has fixed the issue. Does anyone have any pointers for working through this problem.

I should also mention that the issue does get successfully created and shows up in my issues list.

EDIT: I just encountered this problem again when adding a note to an issue. The note was successfully saved, but the error message did come up

I'm trying to upgrade a WCF web service from .NET 3.0 to 4. I've run

Aspnet_regiis.exe

and

ServiceModelReg.exe

As well as changed the Application Pool to use v4.0. I rebuilt the service dll with .NET 4.0 as the target and moved it to the /bin directory on my site.

I'm running into an error that is driving me nuts. Whenever I try to hit the site, I get the following error:

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

The configuration section 'system.serviceModel' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration

I've tried solutions I've found from googling and nothing is working. I feel like someone more experienced with IIS 7 would know exactly what's wrong. Can anyone help with this issue

We have decided to go with a virtualization solution for a few of our development servers. I have an idea of what the hardware specs would be like if we bought separate physical servers, but I have no idea how to consolidate that information into the specification for a generalized virtual server.

I know intuitively that the specs are not additive - I shouldn't just add up all the RAM requirements from each machine to get the RAM required for the virtual server. I can't really treat them as parallel systems either because no matter how good the virtualization software is, it can't abstract away two servers trying to peg the CPU at the same time.

So my question is - is there a standard method to estimating the hardware requirements for a virtualized system given hardware requirement estimations for the underlying virtual machines? Is there a +C constant for VMWare/MS Virtual Server overhead (and if so, what is C?)?
