I need to use the libpuzzle extension for PHP, and so far I failed to make it run with fcgid. I have installed it (manually, unfortunately, because of the dependency issues) and added the extension=libpuzzle.so to my /etc/php.ini. Sadly, extension only gets loaded for PHP-cli, and doesn't get loaded for PHP running from fcgid. I tried:

1. Doing service httpd restart after installation and modifying php.ini, to no avail.
2. Checking phpinfo() to see if it's loaded or not, and it isn't with fcgid, but is with CLI. Extensions that were installed via yum, like imagick, are loaded fine.
3. Loading it during runtime with dl(), however, seems like "this function has been removed from some SAPIs in PHP 5.3.".

I'm at a loss. I don't want to get rid of FastCGI because of this single extension. I cannot install extension from the repo, because one of the dependencies (maybe PHP) is different version than expected from another repo (and I cannot downgrade that either because code relies on it). Please help.

I'm running CentOS 6 with PHP 5.4.17.

I have the following problem - after moving to a new platform PHP files aren't found unless URL contains their extension. So, if /var/www contains file problem.php, the URL http://localhost/problem.php displays correctly, but http://localhost/problem does not. I have tried the following:

• Checked if MultiViews are enabled in the configuration file:

  <Directory /var/www/>

      AllowOverride All

• Checked if mod_negotiation is loaded via phpinfo():

• Just in case the above was a stress-induced hallucination, tried loading the mod_negotiation2 and restarting the server:

• Made sure .htaccess isn't causing this by testing in a directory without .htaccess file.

But all for naught, and I still get 404 errors, and I completely fail to understand why. What am I doing wrong? My platform is Linux Mint 14.

Most guides for OpenSSH configuration advise to disable password authentication in favor of key-based authentication. But in my opinion password authentication has a significant advantage: an ability to connect from absolutely anywhere without a key. If used always with a strong password, this should not be a security risk. Or should it?

I already figured I can run the server by running (assuming repository is in /var/bzr):

bzr server --directory=/var/bzr

But now a couple of questions arises:

1. This doesn't solve a problem of starting bazaar automatically when server boots. I assume the best way would be to make a script in /etc/init.d that would run and stop bazaar server when appropriate, then put symlinks to it into /etc/rc.d/*. If you have an example of said script, please show it. Especially how to properly stop server (the very instance we started), starting is pretty obvious.

2. Security. I think the best approach would be to create a dedicated user (with a login, say, bzr), give that user permissions only to repository directory and run server as this user.

3. How to commit to this central repository? If I try to commit remotely, I get this message: "bzr: ERROR: Cannot lock LockDir(filtered-169532780:///StreetCleaner/.bzr/branch/lock): Transport operation not possible: readonly transport" Does this mean I can only commit/merge when logged via ssh? If so, do you have anything that can simplify the process?

4. Is there any way to add some kind of authentication to bazaar server?

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04.

I'm trying to install phpMyAdmin on my Ubuntu 10.04 server, by doing 'apt-get install phpmyadmin'. Installer asks me for MySQL administrator password and for phpMyAdmin database user password, but not for phpMyAdmin root user password. How do I obtain/reset this password to access my newly installed server?

I installed a LAMP server and set up my domain name to resolve to an appropriate IP address. However, when I connect to a server with it's domain name, it is with an IP address in an address bar. My /etc/apache2/sites-available/default looks like this:

I thought that was supposed to fix this behaviour. What else is required?
