I have a vendor log file that repeatedly grows to hundreds of gigabytes in size. I've reported the bug a few times without resolution. Are there any issues with symbolic linking the file in question to /dev/null ? System is a current generation iMac running latest system.
I understand I'll lose any logs in those files but with 200Gb of repeated copyright notices I'm OK with that until they eventually find the cause of the bug.
I remember using a command line tool to flash a NIC's link light to identify it. I can't remember for the life of me what it was.
I would like to be able to manage my openldap server using the mac os x workgroup manager.
How do I authenticate as it asks for a username and password as opposed to DN?
I believe it has something to do with the Mac OS X "Password Server" but from what I can tell this is not proprietary but instead a collection of authentication tools put together to create a simpler authentication workflow. Does anyone know the specifics of how to setup?
I'm working in a mixed environment… Mac OS X, Ubuntu, Centos, RHEL, Fedora. no Windows for now.
