I'm looking to log all file access (reads, writes, creations, deletions) including usernames and times for a specific folder that is being accessed via a network share.
Using Windows Server 2008. Freeware would be ideal, but I would consider paying if it had the features I want.
Any recommendations for software?
We're migrating our user folders to a new server. They're of the form \\server\users\UserName\, so \\server\users\Tim Smith\. We essentially want to change server to server1 We have quite a few users; so manually editing each user is time consuming.
Any suggestions as for tools I can use to batch edit all my users?
I'm migrating my current half-size rack to a full-size rack and want to take the opportunity to reorganize and sort our spaghetti-hell of ethernet cables.
What system do you use for organising your cables? Do you use any tracking software?
Do you physically label the cables?
What are you identifying when you label each end? Mac address? Port number? Asset number?
What do you use to label them?
I was looking at a hand held labeler, but the wrap around laser printer sheets might work. The Brady ID PAL seems good, but it's pricey.
Ideas?
